The Adventures in Odyssey brand is always a work in progress. Back in 2007, Focus on the Family released a special collection geared for introducing new fans to the show. This collection, Discovering Odyssey, featured nine introductory episodes on 3 CD’s. This was released before the Odyssey characters were re-branded in 2010, for which artist Gary Locke has done a superb job.
Now, eight years later, Discovering Odyssey has been repackaged to fit the design of all the current albums. The logo, arcs and rays, and illustration are now modernized to the new Adventures in Odyssey package design. The episodes, we assume, will remain the same, however, the bonus introductory booklet tucked inside will be updated to reflect the new character illustrations.
We like that both versions of the album are very similar, with the illustrations nearly the same and more vibrant. Collectors, be watching for your copy of this updated version of Discovering Odyssey.
With this said, can we expect to see any of the other compilation collections (example: Bible Eyewitness, A Christmas Odyssey, For God and Country, and others) to be refreshed to match the current AIO branding? Stay tuned!
