Mandy Straussberg is sweet and intelligent, but does have
a stubborn streak. She’s had her share of disagreements with her best
friend, Liz Horton. But the two of them have been there for each other,
even through the tough times. Mandy’s brother, David, is sometimes too
cynical for his own good.

Margaret Faye is the former mayor of Odyssey. Margaret
also had a love interest in John Whittaker, whom she fell in love with,
and proposed to. Whit turned her down, due to their different spiritual

Mark Herring
Mark Herring is an author who bikes across America and
writes as he travels. He wrote a book titled "Handlebars Across
America." During his travels, he stopped by Odyssey to gain insights
about the town for his book. Whit had him arrive in a disguise (as an
electrician) so he could get a real perspective of Whit's End.
Ultimately, he left Whit's End and didn't know if he was going to
include them in his book. Prior to this, he also authored a book called
"What Your Kids Want to Know But You Better Not Tell Them." |

Mark Horton
Mark has red hair and, thanks to the army, now has
muscles. He is a second lieutenant in the army, and the last time we saw
him, he was home from active duty due to an injury. Liz calls her
brother "Red," and Mark calls Liz "Carrot." One of Mark's favorite foods
is cinnamon raisin bagels. When Mark was much younger, he had anger
issues, even to the point of breaking a kid's nose over a game of
checkers. |

Marvin is the middle child in the
Washington family. Marvin doesn’t get excited much, but seems to end up
getting caught in some wild adventures anyway. Marvin tends to get into
trouble when other kids pull him into things he shouldn’t be doing. But
with his father’s love and help, he’s learning to stand up for himself.

Mary Hopkins is the owner and manager of Mary's Story
Shop. Her company sponsors the building of the second Whit's End in
Connellsville. She is from South Dakota. Novacom used Mary to distract
Whit with Whit's End Connellsville. Mary reminded Whit of Jenny
Whittaker when they first met, at the time Whit was experimenting with
new ideas for Whit's End, driving Mary to suggest Whit's End
Connellsville.

assortment of rather strange animals.

one-dimensional throughout her early scenes, the truth why she worked
with Novacom added complexity to her role, as well as the overall theme
of the Novacom saga.

character in Adventures in Odyssey. Monty first appeared in the
Family Portraits two-parter A Member of the Family. He later
appeared in late 1989 and early 1990 along with his sister, Jenny. Due
to the divorce the surname was changed to Whittaker.

joined every community club possible in the hope that she will get a
raise. She hates at least 100 things, one of which is a Valentine's Day
gift with no candy (she wrote a poem). She says she has a lack of faith
in youth.

Mrs. Randoloph is a woman who lives on Wooton's mail
route and is friends with him. Wooton oftens helps out her at her house.
