Marvin Washington

Marvin is the middle child in the Washington family. Marvin doesn’t get excited much, but seems to end up getting caught in some wild adventures anyway. Marvin tends to get into trouble when other kids pull him into things he shouldn’t be doing. But with his father’s love and help, he’s learning to stand up for himself.

Marvin Washington is an energetic, motivated young man. Born to Ed and Elaine Washington, Marvin is constantly creating adventures for himself to discover new things. He gets along really well with his sister Tamika, with whom some of these adventures take place. While he comes across as immature much of the time, he also has his mature moments on the show. He himself would probably admit that everyone partakes in their juvenile and unflattering moments, but he always learns lessons through his own.

Marvin is constantly allowing his conscience to guide him. Since he goes to church and hears truths from the Bible, he allows what he has learned to help him to make wise decisions. His reaction to moving to a new house in Odyssey reveals that he is willing to accept change, whatever that may be.

In his spare time, Marvin likes to do what other boys do. He desires to someday start his own band, but he doesn't have any talented band members... yet. He isn't a shy boy, so it isn't difficult for him to make friends. In his earlier days, he had a strange fascination with saying the word "Oink!" but he quickly outgrew that habit -- mainly because fans probably became tired of hearing him say it.
