Glad to know I'm not the only obscenely lazy person in the world.Miss Friendship wrote:TigerShadow wrote:Hmm...probably the time I didn't feel like standing up and so I dragged myself across the floor and down the stairs all the way to my cat's food bowl to feed him.I have. done. that. too. That's because you can't, because to be able to do so would imply that there are good things about rain beyond nourishment of the ground, which there aren't.Miss Friendship wrote:I should go on a rant to counteract yours, but I don't really feel like it.

An embarrassing number.Miss Friendship wrote:How many times a day do you check the SS?

I kind of do, because I have a lot of interest in the running of the board, but I'm still a little unsure, given my track record of rather poor performance moderating the ToO.Miss Friendship wrote:Do you have any desire to be a Mod?You would be a good one
But thank you.

Money.Paula wrote:What would be the top 10 things on your Christmas/Birthday wishlist?(Along the lines of clothes/shoes/accessories/other random things that don't have a category)

Hmm...if money is no object, then my list would be thus:
1. Pair of brown boots (preferably cowgirl style/riding boots - my old pair got irreparably damaged and I need some boots that go along with outfits with gold and earthy tones)
2. Plaid button downs in warm colors (I had to toss out a pink chiffon one today because it had gotten too damaged

3. Black flats
4. Black leather bag large enough to hold a sketchbook and miscellaneous art supplies
5. Brown over-the-shoulder bag
6. Plain pink blouses (I only have one on hand)
7. Red sweater
8. Scarves in various floral patterns
9. Pearl earrings/necklace (I need some for business casual occasions)
10. Black or silver watch (mine is pink, which doesn't always go with my outfit)
You mean, aside from "clothes"?Paula wrote:What are your top 5 essentials for your every day wardrobe?

What I wear kind of depends on my mood, honestly, but I can probably think of some things I usually try to do. There's no universal type of clothing; a lot of times, you have to pay attention to what colors look best on you and what cuts of clothing best fit your shape.
1. All of my tops and dresses (save for one pale pink dress) are in fairly bright, bold colors; I have very pale skin, so I look best in colors that stand out.
2. If I'm wearing a non-maxi dress/skirt, I try to narrow the waist as much as I can; I have an hourglass figure, which means that A-line skirts look best on me. I have a babydoll dress that I usually wear with a belt around the waist, and I have some pleated skirts that I wear high-waisted with a blouse tucked in.
3. Honestly, since I'm going to college in Florida, I have one kind of jeans that I wear on a regular basis - shorts. I tried to wear capris today because the weather is getting a little cooler and found that I had made a very poor decision indeed.

4. Re: shoes, I only have a few pairs of sandals (because apparently my college fund is to be prioritized for dumb things like "food" and "school supplies" rather than for obscene amounts of footwear); I wear ones with gold tones for outfits that have golder tones in them (or alternatively I wear Rainbows for more comfort), and I have a couple of black ones that I wear with cooler colors. I only ever wear mid-calf or knee-high boots because they generally give my outfits some symmetry; I'm of average height and usually wear simply-patterned clothes, so my body is almost visually partitioned into my head and shoulders, my torso, my thighs, and my calves, so I find that taller boots are more visually pleasing than shorter ones.
5. I always wear jewelry; if my outfit is more down-to-earth (say, a plaid-button down with some skinny jeans tucked into riding boots), I wear some studs and a simple necklace, but if it looks a little nicer (say, a white blouse and a mint-green, lace-backed cardigan with a pair of shorts and some black sandals), then I go for more elaborate jewelry.
However, all of that said, one thing that I've made it a goal to always do is to read my Bible and pray before I get anywhere near the bathroom to put on my makeup and do my hair. As you can probably tell from the five-paragraph essay above, I like to look my best, which can lead to me being exceedingly vain. I want to be sure that I prioritize my spiritual well-being before anything to do with how I look; I want to be sure that I have my time with God and then maybe squeeze in my morning beauty routines, not the other way around.
Did that answer your question, or did I completely miss the point?
