Oooh, I was going to see it with a group of friends, but it snowed 12 inches that day :( I hear it's really good. Hopefully it comes out on Netflix or something.

I just finished Cinderella, and it is amazing. Not only was the Frozen Fever short the cutest thing ever, the movie itself was amazing. Amazing colors and sound and such a beautiful rendition of the classic story. The costumes were by far my favorite part, and it made me cry both happy and sad tears. If you're waffling on seeing it, seriously, go see it.

I second Cinderella, though I am always a sucker for the love triumphs over society's broken standards. I'll admit I cried in places. And yes, the outfits were perfect, as was the architecture (loved the palace and its gardens) and the carriages. And was the Giver good? I have been thinking about seeing it, wasn't sure how well the book would be adapted though....

I couldn't even stand the trailer... They were complaining about how anti-feminist it is.

I'm assuming that he does not like the Disney princess.

Not exactly great.... But it was definitely cool.
I love how Bucky was the Winter Soldier! That was an awesome twist. :)

Big Hero 6.
I thought the story was lacking; it needed more intruige in figuring out who was the villan, and what his next move was.
The animation was awesome, though, the best animation (so far) that Disney has done! They just keep getting better and better!

I know right! However I disagree with who the villain was, I couldn't figure out who it was.

I disagree. I thought the story was great. Granted, I knew who the villain was ahead of time, so I wasn't much interested in that aspect of the plot, but I really don't think that the plot was so much concerned with the identity of the villain as it was with stopping the villain (I seem to recall that the characters guessed Krei and ran with the assumption). As a result, I think that more narrative weight was thus justly given to the question of how to stop Yokai (with thematic weight on Hiro understanding Callaghan's struggles as a parallel to his own) rather than who the person was behind the mask in and of itself.

Agreed! Did you stay and watch the credits, by any chance? There's a section giving credit to various robotics programs at universities; Disney really went through a lot of trouble making sure they were accurate. The attention to detail in the backgrounds, the character animation, the costume designs...I think the only problem I saw was the similarities between the faces of GoGo, Honey Lemon, and Aunt Cass, which has been a recurring problem in Disney's animated women, but the differences in the body types as well as the fact that two of those characters are women in STEM programs mitigates it a bit for me.
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love
