I'm assuming that for this scenario we ignore taxes. With 5 million, I would have over an income of 1 million per year for 5 years, giving me the flexibility to do almost anything (within reason). If I chose to, I would never have to work again. Giving up my phone for that amount of time would be fine. The Internet would be much harder, especially with the SS, but that would still be a worthwhile trade.
