I can agree with that, I guess, but still... let's keep positive comments about Emily to a minimum on this topic.
On the exact opposite note, what are your least favorite Emily episodes? I'd have to say it's a tie between "Game For A Mystery" and "Stage Fright", partially because they were so similar.

I'm not sure. That one that she goes back in time to see Mr. Whittaker's life. I can't remember the name.

For me, Square One, hands down.
Blitz, I do not recall Emily ever attempting to save Mr. Whittaker's life, whether in the real world or the cyberrealm. What episode are you referring to?

He said "see" his life, not "save" it.
That episode is "Great Expectations".

it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love
"Great Expectations" is my least favorite Emily episode.
I liked her the most in album 58.

What's with all the hate for "Great Expectations"? I myself found it to be a refreshingly good episode.

I agree with Arnold. Great Expectations helped to develop EMily a bit more.

Same! I thought it had some really good character expansion, both for Whit and for Emily, and was realistic about the fact that jobs aren't always the dreams that people imagine them to be.ArnoldtheRubberDucky wrote:What's with all the hate for "Great Expectations"? I concur. Emily, the Genius and Great Expectations were Emily's two best episodes. They showed her in a different light: a normal child, wary of the future and fraught with worry of what will happen if she doesn't meet the expectations of certain people. Of the two, Great Expectations is by far the superior. Besides, who doesn't want to see Whit's childhood? Due to this discussion, I may have to go back and listen to this one again.
(And Tiger, when I saw Blitz's post last week, I could've sworn that it said "save.")

Great Expectations was much to rushed in my opinion.

How was it too rushed? I thought that Emily's self-doubt was realistically developed.

They had only a few minutes for the actual adventure.

I remember them having about 12 minutes for the adventure, actually. It wasn't supposed to be a comprehensive overview of Whit's life, just a little peek into some of his past that we hadn't heard about yet.

Besides, Whit's life wasn't really what the episode was about. The episode was about Emily realizing that she really isn't sure of what she wants to be and then going on the adventure to see what Whit's life was like to understand that she doesn't have to have her entire life planned out by the age of eleven. The episode is about Whit's story being used to help Emily, not about Whit's story entirely.

Agreed. It would have been bad if Emily wasn't the center of he episode, or if she was just used as a plot device to show us Whit's past.

I did not. I don't listen to Odyssey much anymore, truth be told. But perhaps I'll hop over there and give it a spin.

ArnoldtheRubberDucky= Did you think that Emily seemed a little too careful for her character in album 58, especially about Hangman's Hollow?
