Well, I finished a week long family camp/conference in Colorado (That is a long way from British Columbia. We drove a lot). So today I went to the Focus on the Family Welcome Center with some friends from Ontario (That's also a long ways from Colorado). I got a Wod-Fam-Choc-Sod and it was great. I bought the Blackgaard Chronicles and the Screwtape Letters (STARRING ANDY SERKIS). I really want to go see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Also, I tasted Virgil's Root Beer today and it was amazing. I tricked a ton of people at the Christian Camp into thinking that we used knives instead of forks to pick up our food in Canada. A ton of people also believed that Canada was a 3rd World Country and didn't have Coca-Cola

And TOTALLY UNFAIR. Why are people in MY state while I'm NOT there?

I just got a new laptop battery. Two of the more interesting instructions were:
Do not expose to fire.
Do not ship or store near radioactive fields.
Me: Well, I guess that rules out keeping it next to the nuclear plant in the basement...

That has to be about the strangest thing you said. Of course FIFA wants money. Everyone now a days wants money. Neverthless...FIFA is professional. Albeit, professionals who want money.Blitz wrote:Fifa is about money not about soccer. Do you see how many mistakes Fifa has made and how many biased referees there are???
I don't see what your point is...I'm sorry. We got about 3 free kick in the game against Portugal. The Portuguese got a lot of them, and they were playing ruff. And free kicks and penalty aren't about how good you are. It is about the other side more so than your side. They are given in accordance to unfair tackles which can easily be proven if you know football.

Ghana deserved to get more free shot and at least two penalty shot.

I got to see the leaked Avengers 2 and Batman vs. Superman Comic-Con Trailers. The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was AMAZING. It was about 4 minutes long. The Batman vs Superman trailer was only a teaser. It was about 30 seconds long. The Batman vs. Superman trailer was kinda meh...but I'm still looking forward to a full length trailer.
Anyway, both trailers were taken offline half an hour later, but the audio of them are up on soundcloud. And you can find descriptions of them on Kotaku or IGN.

^Speaking of Comic Con, has anyone been following The Legend of Korra? I didn't go to SDCC, but I heard basically everything that happened, and I'm super stoked for the rest of this season!

Well, Nickalodeon took Legend of Korra off their network and moved it online, which was a dumb move for them.TigerShadow wrote:^Speaking of Comic Con, has anyone been following The Legend of Korra? Actually, when you look at it, it wasn't that dumb at all. Bryan Konietzko, a co-creator of Avatar and Korra, spoke at SDCC about how digital streaming has always been more popular for Korra viewings than airings on television, and ever since Korra got moved from Saturday morning to the Friday Night Death Slot, TV ratings continued to plummet while digitally, the show was thriving. Arguably, the release of "Darkness Falls" and "Light in the Dark" online after putting up a notes-challenge on KorraNation's tumblr page was a test to see how much more popular the show was online, and according to Bryan, the release of the Book Two finale was the biggest digital streaming event of the year for Nickelodeon.
I mean, Nick has been handling Korra's marketing very poorly for a while now, but the move to digital was preplanned—and not just for the rest of Book Three, but for the whole book. And the best part is that I can now watch Korra legally when it first comes out instead of waiting for it to be put out on torrent sites—I don't have cable, and Nick has been quite slow about putting Korra out online.

True, but I would imagine A:TLOK is one of Nickolodeon's most successful running shows. And one of their most successful shows overall next to A:TLA. It just doesn't make sense why that take one of their most popular shows and make it exclusively digital instead of keeping it on television and digital.

Is it among the most popular, though? It has a massive online following, sure, but how many of Nick's target demographic are overwhelmingly huge fans of the show? Or for that matter, how many of the people who just casually watch LoK are going to know about premiering episodes with only a week's notice and with little marketing from a channel they probably don't even watch otherwise?
Television ratings have a huge role to play in this, and the ratings have dropped exponentially since Book One (I'm not exaggerating; Book One episodes had approximately four million viewers, while Book Two had about two million and Book Three had the lowest ratings at one million). I think it's actually a smart move, because that way LoK reaches a broader audience than it does on TV. Of course, it might also reach a broader audience if Nick wasn't airing it in the Friday Night Death Slot, but again, I'm not saying that Nick is blameless here—I'm just saying that on the whole, it's actually a pretty good decision. That aside, this was already pre-planned; originally, all of Book Three was going to be online, not just the last five episodes. It's just that when four of the episodes got leaked on Nick's Spanish affiliate, odd and poor decisions were made in response.
