Where to?
Salt isn't exactly a strong purifier or cleaner. I've always wanted to go to Israel though. Its a neat place.

How long was the flight? Do you know how much it cost? Flying is killer in expenses...

The food in Jerusalem is really good, if you know where to go. There was this one place that we went to for shwarma(It's kind of like a Middle Eastern burrito. They put hummus, Israeli salad[tomatoes, cucumber, onion, parsley, salt, olive oil, and vinegar] and a kind of really thinly sliced, freshly roasted meat that was usually chicken or beef.) that was absolutely one of the best things on the face of the earth. There was also a bakery not far from where we lived(it wasn't in Jerusalem, but about twenty miles outside Jerusalem to the west.) that made WONDERFUL baked goods. Rugelach, hamentaschen, bars, cookies, cakes, bread, and probably something more, but I can't think of anything else at the moment.

The flight was 6 and a half hours...ugh. To be honest, I don't but the prices have increased over the years, at least since the very first time I went and the last time I went. It is!Blitz wrote:How long was the flight? Do you know how much it cost? Flying is killer in expenses...

Thank you, GJFH! I actually think so! We are hiking Diamond Head I believe. This volcano/mountain is well-known in Oahu, the island we are on.GJFH wrote:Hawaii! Wow, I hope you enjoy your trip hipster.hipster_ wrote:

Hawaii is awesome! We go to Kauai pretty often, and it's a really great place.
WOW! That sounds sooooo good! Have you tried falafels?? I used to have Jewish-extended family and they all came from Israel...they showed us what a shabbat dinner was and the food was amazing.AuntKate wrote:The food in Jerusalem is really good, if you know where to go. And no, I had no problem with what you put in this topic. I like when people go outside the box.

Falafel is probably one of my favorite dishes, especially with homemade hummus on top, inside a fresh pita. YUM!!
Shabbat is always something my family looks forward to during the week. It is a time for our family to reconnect and relax.

No, my mom is from Indiana, and my dad is from California. I was born and raised in Cali, so...no. But I have/had family all scattered around the country..Indiana, New York, Arizona, Hawaii, Israel, Alaska, and of course, California.AuntKate wrote:Is your family from the East Side? (New York)

Oh ok. I got that from you saying you have Jewish relatives. Have you gone to synagogue on Yom Kippur?

I have been to Canada with my dad to go hunting, this year in fact. I have been all over the US with my family.

I love traveling. I've been to a good portion of the U.S. as well as a few countries outside the U.S. such as, London, Spain, Ghana W. Africa (twice), Honduras (twice), Spain, Canada, and the Bahamas. I'm also going to Nigeria soon. My pastor nicknamed me the world traveler in my church, but there's just something about seeing new places that excites me. I hope to go to Aisa one day, especially Japan.

@hipster_: Yes, my family goes to our congregation every Yom Kippur, as well as most of the other holidays, and about every two weeks.

My aunt as well as my dad have traveled many places around the world and I hope to do that someday too. I used to want to be a missionary..but I'm going to find an excuse to travel. I know someone who has been to Honduras and she says it was so pretty.
