What does that even mean Blitz? If I remember correctly you're not in favor of allowing refugees into America.

Meanwhile in the Middle East the ancient Church is being destroyed and Christians are being forced to flee their homes but all of the candidates you support refuse to help them or let them into our country. So stop talking about persecution in this country until you step up and help Christians who are really being persecuted.

Really now? Where in my post did I suggest that American Christians are currently undergoing persecution?

Also, are you meaning to tell me that Ted Cruz, a social conservative candidate targeting evangelicals, has stated that he would not allow Christian refugees into the country? I would love to see the quotes.

I can see you are upset with something or someone, but it certainly is not related to what I said.

Sounds good to me. I would also be concerned about the cultural and societal side effects, but no one wants to discuss those  .

You heavily implied that it is coming.

Give me a quote where he says he'll take in refugees, to date America has taken in just over 2,000 refugees from the Syrian conflict. There are 4 million refugees total and over 12 million internally displaced Syrians. Cruz has not to the best of my knowledge done anything about that.

I'm upset with Cruz because of this: http://www.theamericanconservative.com/ ... ns-summit/

How would you change the screening process from it's current form?

Okay, let's discuss the cultural and societal side effects, what would they be? And how would they be different than the cultural and societal side effects of your ancestors coming to this country?

I don't mean to interrupt, but I have an idiot question. Could you explain that article ED, and your problems with it?

That article is from a conference by the IDC or In Defense of Christian group that works with Christian groups being persecuted in the Middle East. Ted Cruz showed up at the conference and told the Christians there that he did not support them and made support of the nation state of Israel a litmus test for the Christianity.

I think the article can be best summed up in this quotation:
It was at that point that some in the audience objected to Cruz turning a celebration of Christian unity into a lecture on a divisive subject that many in the crowd experienced as part of their everyday lives.
Basically, Cruz politicized the tragedy of the persecution that Christians face in a war-torn region and the need for the church to unify in the face of such opposition, instead using this important issue as a platform to discuss the highly divisive issue of Israel. It makes Cruz look as though he only considers the very real cruelty faced by Middle Eastern Christians as a stepping stone to talk about a far more political and controversial matter, and for someone whining about hateful people in the audience, he had no problem stating that those who do not support Israel—which, it should be noted, many of them may not or probably don't, given that many of the Christians there and the ones with whom IDC works are Palestinian—are not worth protecting.
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love
