Dom wrote:During the gray and drizzly days, what is the humidity like? Or the rest of the time, for that matter?
Well I mean, it's wet so there is moisture in the air. Like today the weather said it was 91 percent humidity and it was gray and misty today. However, it is NEVER that gross unbreathable mugginess like you get when you normally think of "humidity." And in the summer or when it's sunny the air doesn't feel heavy or like it has a lot of moisture in it.
Dom wrote: What is your view on abortion?
I believe in bodily autonomy and the right of people to control what happens to their body. I don't think anybody should ever be obligated undergo something, medical procedure, pregnancy or otherwise, that they do not consent to. So I believe it's a fundamental right for people to be able to control their reproductive systems, including whether or not they are pregnant.
Dom wrote:If parents fight all the time, what do you think would be better for the kid...having the parents stay together as a family, or to split up?
Split up.
Dom wrote:Do you prefer steak or chicken?
Chicken. I'm not big on red meat.
Dom wrote:Do you sun tan?
Not really.
Dom wrote:Would you consider yourself a SHALLOW PERSON?
No :P
Dom wrote:What is something you recently discovered about yourself, unrelated to moving?
I've discovered I really, really dislike being alone.
Dom wrote:Are you a child at heart? Give examples.
Ehhh. Not really. I enjoy some childlike things. Like coloring and playing on swings and painting with finger paints. But I don't really view the world the way a child does.
Dom wrote:Who does the grocery shopping for your family?
Usually my husband.
Dom wrote:What kind of living situation do you have now...house, apartment, family?
We live in an apartment.
Dom wrote:Are you into jewelry?
I do like jewelry. I own a fair amount (although most of what I own is hand-me-down from friends and such).
Dom wrote:Any plans for Valentine's Day?
We spent our Valentine's Day unloading a moving truck :P
Dom wrote:Are you a realist or a romantic?
Both! I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. You can be realistic about romance.
Dom wrote:What is your first thought when someone gives you flowers?
That would entirely, 100 percent depend on the situation, the person, etc. :P Like if my husband gave me flowers, I would think that it was a very sweet and nice thing for him to do. If like some creepy person who has been stalking me for a year gave me flowers, I'd probably think I should call the police.

Why did you become an atheist? (I'm sure this was asked before, but I'm too lazy to go back and look :anxious:) The reason I ask is because I came across some old posts of yours on the ToO when you were a Christian. Also did you get married as a Christian? And was the guy that you were "sure" you would marry the one you did? :P

Hmmmm, ARE YOU SURE? *moves there*
kait wrote:I don't think anybody should ever be obligated undergo something, medical procedure, pregnancy or otherwise, that they do not consent to.
Having sex doesn't constitute "consent" for you, then, I imagine.
kait wrote:Split up.
Glad to hear that, I fully agree.

Do you have any health issues? How do you feel about vaccinating your kidlet? Do you ever want to adopt, or have more kids? If so, what age spacing would be ideal, if you care about such things? Do you guys have pets, if I haven't asked that yet? How many hours a week is your new job? Do you make friends quickly in the workplace or are you a lone wolf...is work a place you focus on the job and kind of ignore what's around you, or more of a social opportunity? Do you think you have a strong work ethic or are you a LAZY BUM? How do you feel about lazy bums? Do you have any personal goals this year, any New Year's Resolution type stuff or else just something you'd like to see happen or accomplished? WHAT KINDS OF QUESTIONS DO YOU LIKE? :wacky:

Miss Friendship wrote:Why did you become an atheist?
It was a long journey. But ultimately, at the end of it, I decided there is no real evidence a higher power exists. So I don't see the point in believing something without evidence.
Miss Friendship wrote: The reason I ask is because I came across some old posts of yours on the ToO when you were a Christian.
NOOOOOO  ERASE THEM ALLLLLL
Miss Friendship wrote: Also did you get married as a Christian?
I didn't consider myself a Christian when I got married, but I did believe in God.
Miss Friendship wrote: And was the guy that you were "sure" you would marry the one you did? :P
Oh heavens no. No no no. Ugh. I'm so embarrassed you found all those posts lol. :P
Dom wrote: Hmmmm, ARE YOU SURE?

Positive.
Dom wrote: Having sex doesn't constitute "consent" for you, then, I imagine.
Consenting to sex is just that: consenting to sex. Consenting to sex is not consenting to pregnancy.
Dom wrote: But isn't that related to moving? :P You said your spousal unit and mini me were stuck in the old place.
I suppose if you want to be technical. But I've been in the process of moving for more than a month now, so I'm not sure I really have any revelations that aren't in some way tangentially related to moving.
Dom wrote:Do you have any health issues?
A few.
Dom wrote: How do you feel about vaccinating your kidlet?
My daughter is fully vaccinated.
Dom wrote: Do you ever want to adopt, or have more kids?
At this point, that is not something I see happening. But if we ever DID have more, we would adopt.
Dom wrote: If so, what age spacing would be ideal, if you care about such things?
I originally wanted Talya to have one sibling that was like a year and a half to two years younger. That seems like fairly ideal spacing to me.
Dom wrote: Do you guys have pets, if I haven't asked that yet?

We do! We have one cat and one rabbit.
Dom wrote: How many hours a week is your new job?
Forty.
Dom wrote: Do you make friends quickly in the workplace or are you a lone wolf...is work a place you focus on the job and kind of ignore what's around you, or more of a social opportunity?
I focus on my job first and foremost, but I enjoy getting to know the people I work with. And one of my best friends started out as just one of my co-workers at my old job. But that's kinda rare. I don't usually develop super strong friendships with people I work with. So it's kinda both, I suppose.
Dom wrote: Do you think you have a strong work ethic or are you a LAZY BUM?
I have a very strong work ethic.
Dom wrote: How do you feel about lazy bums?
I usually wonder why they are lazy. Do they suffer from depression or anxiety that makes it difficult to get anything done? Do they have struggle with addictions or even physical ailments that make working difficult? Et cetera.
Dom wrote: Do you have any personal goals this year, any New Year's Resolution type stuff or else just something you'd like to see happen or accomplished?
Getting a new job and moving was my first goal. CHECK. My second goal is to increase my personal fitness.

BUT, if Jesus rose from the dead there would be evidence for God, right? (I think we agreed on this earlier)
kait wrote:Consenting to sex is not consenting to pregnancy.
But what if pregnancy is something that may come as a result? I mean its like with smoking. Smoking may cause someone cancer. And they smoke knowing that is a likely possibility. They don't tell the Doctor, "I can't have lung cancer. I only consented to smoke."

Perhaps, but there is really no evidence that happened.
Miss Friendship wrote: But what if pregnancy is something that may come as a result?
That still doesn't mean you are consenting to it. Consenting to being pregnant is when someone gets pregnant and they decide "Oh yeah, I'm cool with this, I shall remain pregnant until such a time as a young neonate is birthed from my womb."

if you're going to use the smoking analogy: If someone does develop cancer as the result of smoking, there are many steps they can take to get rid of it. Including chemo, radiation and other treatments. Because obviously the person probably doesn't want to have cancer, and so they are able to take steps to not have cancer anymore. I think the same thing should be allowed with pregnancy. If someone does get pregnant when they don't want to be, they should have steps available to stop being pregnant.

So someone shouldn't take responsibility? I mean this person created a life whether they liked it or not and they should not inflict pain on an innocent little baby which obviously twists and turns in pain when it's aborted. If they want to stop being pregnant, there are ways to do that without harming a life. (At least I think so)
kait wrote:Perhaps, but there is really no evidence that happened.
This is why I wish you could have gotten the book I sent. :P It had some incredible evidence supporting it. Oh well. At least consider there might be evidence.

So do you believe a baby is a baby from Day 1 or doesn't it get life later on in the pregnancy? Would you feel right aborting an unborn child at 8 months?

Having an abortion is one way to take responsibility.
Miss Friendship wrote: If they want to stop being pregnant, there are ways to do that without harming a life.
0.o To stop being pregnant, you can either have an abortion or wait nine months and give birth. There are no other options.
Miss Friendship wrote: At least consider there might be evidence.
I have considered and studied it pretty extensively, actually. There is no evidence that doesn't begin with the presupposition that the bible is true.
Miss Friendship wrote: So do you believe a baby is a baby from Day 1 or doesn't it get life later on in the pregnancy?
I don't know. I tend to lead toward the side of thinking that a baby is a baby when it's born. When a fetus becomes a "life" or whether it is one is irrelevant to my position on abortion.
Miss Friendship wrote: Would you feel right aborting an unborn child at 8 months?
Personally, no. But I believe it should be a right available to those who may need the option.

Really? I thought Uterus Transplant was a thing.
kait wrote:There is no evidence that doesn't begin with the presupposition that the bible is true.
That's why my theory starts by basing it on a literal historical figure-- Jesus.

Have you ever seen any actual footage of unborn babies? Or babies getting aborted and watch them writhe in pain and torture?

Ever seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTOBhHSRtrU ?

Uterine transplant IS a thing. But you can't transplant a uterus with a fetus inside.

It is perfectly possible for a person named Jesus or a person who Jesus was based on to have existed. But that doesn't really do much to prove anything in the Bible.

I have seen such videos, yes.

Books are actually pretty difficult to burn in general because of how closely compacted the pages are. The lack of air flow makes it a tougher task to light it on fire. Throw an encyclopedia or dictionary on a camp fire if you want to see. In the case of a compartment fire where a lot of the heat is transferred via radiation as opposed to conduction (I.e. Using matter), a Bible sitting closed on the seat offers a lot less surface area to potentially catch fire. And if the bible is leather-bound, it will take A LOT of heat before igniting. So it's actually somewhat common for bibles and other such books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc) to not sustain very much damage in compartment fires. The only reason it seems significant is because it was a bible. If it was a dictionary or a leather bound notebook that didn't burn it wouldn't make headlines and no one would care ore think twice about it.

I watched about 30 seconds of the video and then turned it off because my eyes were rolling so hard I thought they might fall out. And that would have been a mess.

"Political correctedness" is about respect and compassion. End of story. Those who raise this big outcry against it just want license to be jerks without being called out on it.

Except for the politically incorrect. You can treat them however you want.

And some people throw hissy fits and force others to play along using "Political correctedness". It's not so much being offensive as not knowing the rules of what is considered offensive and inoffensive. It's making people afraid to say exactly how things are without offending somebody. In short, it's everything the Christians would supposedly do if they got to run things. My, my, my :boohoo: .
