Are tattoos a rebellion against God?

Is smoking a rebellion against God?

If suicide is a horrible sin, what qualifies something as suicide? Would people that refuse medical care be committing suicide?

Here's a different question: Would Jesus want me singing in a Metal band? If so, then do it. If not, then don't.
Blitz wrote:Have you ever gotten lost?
Yes.
Blitz wrote:Have you ever been to a mega mall?
Not sure. I don't go to malls very often to know.
Isaiah the Ox wrote:Are tattoos a rebellion against God?
Why would they be?
Isaiah the Ox wrote:Is smoking a rebellion against God?
It's damaging to one's body, and not taking care of something God made for you, but I don't know if I would interpret it that way.
Isaiah the Ox wrote:If suicide is a horrible sin, what qualifies something as suicide? Would people that refuse medical care be committing suicide?
Suicide is when you deliberately murder yourself. Refusing to take medical care is simply letting a disease take it's course without help. So no, not the same.

OF COURSE IT IS. :noway:
Don't recall the Bible saying anything on this subject. Guess it's up to a persons conscience. ;)

Do you think Jesus wants anyone singing in a metal band?

Given the list of things Christians are commanded to do in scripture, I am going to assume not. We belong to a Kingdom and there is a spiritual war to fight. We shouldn't be entertaining the earthly Kingdom by singing songs to "rock" their souls to sleep. However, I would hesitate from saying anyone in a metal band is unsaved.

How does music "rock" your soul to sleep?

Should a Christian be part of any band? Beside an a cappella band?

Music tends to make you feel better (from my limited understanding) and help you forget the pressures and realities of IRL.

If the band is solely for the glory and praise of Jesus and the messages delivered are all in harmony with scripture, sure.

Is that a bad thing?

What if I create music that is about making true and beautiful art?

No. Only too much of it is, because we aren't supposed to be rocked to sleep and forget about important things. And a metal band to the unsaved does that....or might contribute to that. :(

Hmm, I would say it's not detrimental, but neither is it building God's Kingdom. The category would have to be "inspirational" or something like that.

How much rock music is too much rock music that puts you to sleep?

Since I don't listen to rock, I have no idea.

MF: How much do you know about Helios?

Woody: Let's see. I know you survived her
drama, I know she's a danger to
society, I know she's a lie, I know
Belle is unfazed by her wrath, I
know she has ox horns, and I know
I should beware of her.

(And she is also my enemy. )

For telling me that my Dad shouldn't give me any money for the trip because I am a bad spender. :x Which is the farthest from the truth. I am actually very stingy with money.
