MF: How much do you know about Helios?

Woody: Let's see. I know you survived her
drama, I know she's a danger to
society, I know she's a lie, I know
Belle is unfazed by her wrath, I
know she has ox horns, and I know
I should beware of her.

When I was about 10 years old, my next door neighbor and I decided we wanted to sell homemade perfume. So we gathered up some empty jars from around the house, filled them with water, some scented lotion, rose petals, and various other items to make our "perfume." Then we stood outside her house and tried to convince passersby to buy it.

Well it's my alma mater's homecoming. So I came up for tailgating and the football game. This evening I'm going out to the bars with friends and then we are seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight. Many shenanigans!

Hmm. I don't really have a favorite. But last year's was a really good one.

I have not yet received it! But I am keeping an eye on my mail for it.

Boredom. :P

Do you ever fear that you'll get a tattoo and not like it later on? (This is why I'd probably never get a tattoo, I'm too indecisive and would do something rash. :P)

Not really. I think I worried about that before I ever got my first tattoo but definitely don't anymore. And for my first tattoo, I found the art piece I wanted and literally waited an entire year before I actually got it, just to be sure that I didn't change my mind.

I now view tattoos a little differently than I did before I had any (which is to be expected, I suppose) and don't have that same fear anymore.

Ow that's harsh. :P Tattoos are kind of like clothes. Some styles look good on some people and not others, but everyone looks good in clothes that are well-made, fit nicely and match their personality. ;)

Well I haven't been here too long so I don't have too many memories. I look back somewhat amusedly and fondly on some of the chatroom stuff, if that counts.

It is not. Astute observation. ;)

Not any "really good" friends, necessarily. But I feel like I've gotten to know Eleventh pretty well and we talk pretty often when he hasn't completely disappeared from the Internet. And I definitely consider him a friend. :)

Well my daughter is only 4 so she doesn't even know what a forum is, yet. :P And my husband doesn't really have an opinion one way or the other. We don't really keep tabs on each other's Internet shenanigans. I sometimes tell him about stuff on the SS and some of the people on here. But I wouldn't really say he thinks anything in particular of me being on here.

Would your husband find a forum interesting? Does he enjoy debating? Did you know he looks like this guy a whole lot? O.o https://twitter.com/LinusTech?ref_src=t ... r%5Eauthor

He didn't completely disappear. :P
Ehh. He's on a few chess forums (he's a semi-professional player), but he's in a ton of Facebook groups.

He mostly enjoys debating. He participated really heavily for a long time in a creationist/evolution debate group on Facebook but I think some of the appeal on that has worn off a bit for him. He still engages in debates in some of his groups, though, although less about religious things anymore.

Hm. I can see some similarities in the nose but that's about it. :P

Well he disappeared from social media! Which is basically the Internet. :P

Well if you obviously see no resemblance between that^ picture and this one: (even better picture) then I guess you don't. :P Although I would be interested in knowing if anyone else sees any similarities other than the nose. :P

What is the most lovable thing about your daughter?

Have you ever written an article that was published?

There's pretty much nothing about her that isn't lovable, to be honest. But I especially love how she is willing to speak her mind and stand up for herself.

I probably have more than 250 articles that have been published.

Have you ever thought about writing books???

Why is it you said you would change when you got married? Do you feel you weren't ready?

What is your favorite quote???

Are you looking forward to seeing Mockingjay part 2??? Have you seen the rest of the Hunger games movies?

What are your opinions on how they made an introverted main character on screen???
What is forever..? I shall see you again. Just after the mist has faded and time has stopped, over on the other side. Enjoy your journey and I'll enjoy mine.

I have. And I probably will at some point.

Frankly, I don't think anyone is ready to be married at 19. I wish I'd waited until I actually knew who the heck I was as a person, or at least had a much better grasp on who I was. I have changed COMPLETELY from when we first got married. And it's only by a stroke of pure luck that my husband changed with me and in the same ways. It would have been so easy for us to have started down completely different paths and be unable to sustain a marriage because of that. One of my best friends now also got married really young and is now having that problem ... she has completely changed and her husband hasn't changed with her in the same ways. It causes tension, stress, hurt feelings, and forces you to make difficult choices. And there are a lot of things I have been unable to do and opportunities I've been unable to take advantage of because I got married and started a family so young. I don't regret anything by any means, but part of me wishes 19-year-old me would have had a bit more foresight and held off just a liiiiiitle while longer. :P

"Obstinate, headstrong girl!"

I am! And I have.

Hm. I don't have any opinions on that particular point.

Do you have a connection with something from nature or an animal??? If so what?

What do you mean by you have completely changed??? (I can't seem to wrap my mind around this idea for some reason o.o) Like do you mean your beliefs have changed? Or just lifestyle or both?

Why do you think "no one" is ready for marriage at 19? Not everyone changes as rapidly as you did/do. ;)

Would you let (I use the word let loosely) your daughter get married at 19 if she knew who she was and what she wanted?

Why do you think our desires change over the years of our lives?

Depends on what you mean by "connection," I suppose? When we were very first dating, my husband would call me his hummingbird. So hummingbirds are kind of special to me. :P And owls and foxes are my favorite animals. Owls, partially because they are freakin' awesome and partially because they are the one of Greek goddess Athena's iconographies and I really love Greek and Roman mythology and Athena is my fav. (I don't know if this is what you meant by your question or if I even answered it :P)

My religious beliefs are different, my political beliefs are different, my goals in life are different, my parenting philosophy is different, my worldview is different, aspects of my personality are different ... I'm just a different person.

So part of my belief that no one is ready (and obviously I use that term kind of loosely because I am not the arbiter or judge of other people's lives and they can do what they want. ;) ) has to do with the development of the frontal lobe in the brain, which is critical for impulse control and decision making. That part of the brain isn't fully developed until the mid to late 20s. Because this brain isn't nearly fully developed at 19, it is really difficult for a person to be able to fully assess a situation and decision as crucial as getting married and be able to make a fully-informed choice because the brain just isn't even capable. The other part is I just think only a teeny, tiny, miniscule number of 19-year-olds really and truly know who they are and what they want out of life. Show me a 19-year-old who hasn't changed and evolved in a significant way between that age and their mid to late 20s, and I'll give you a million dollars :P

If my daughter wanted to get married at 19, I would probably let her know what I thought of that choice and how I think it would affect her life (I wouldn't think it was a good idea regardless of circumstances), but let her know that the decision is (obviously) ultimately hers and I would love and support her choice. I love and support the people in my life no matter what and if my daughter really wanted to get married, loving and supporting a decision she felt strongly about would be the most important thing to me.

Because as we go through life we encounter different circumstances, ideas and experiences that influence how we see the world, what we believe and who we are. And with that, our desires and goals can change. Our brains are constantly changing and adapting so biologically it's impossible for us to stay the exact same over time.
