Technically they didn't take away all the land, and America had and still has more than enough room for every one.
If it were possible to redistribute wealth but at the cost of millions of lives would you do it?

SS. I occasionally visit the ToO but never post anymore. I like the SS more ... there is more diversity in beliefs/opinions/etc. Makes things more interesting.

24!

Well. Restructuring our social security systems and investing more into them wouldn't cause millions of people to die ... soooo ... this is an unrealistic hypothetical. :P

Hypothetically it could if we had to kill rich and certain political leaders to achieve it. Drug dealers etc who really carry a great deal of the money of the world.

ETA: SORRY NINJA! I totally missed your post the first time around.

Here is a photo of my first tattoo.

This is a "stick and poke" tattoo I did on myself.

And I have one tattoo on my foot that really needs touched up otherwise I'd post a photo. But it says "You are my sunshine" and has a cut lil sun with it. I got that one with my mom and her's says "My only sunshine" because that was the song she used to sing to me when I was little.

I have one on my thigh that is a large cameo of Jane Austen (fancy frame with her silhouette), roses and the words "obstinate, headstrong girl" which is a quote from Pride and Prejudice.

And I have a couple other stick and poke tattoos I'm doing on myself that I haven't completed yet. :)

Changes would take place through legislative action, just like they always have. You know ... with congresses or parliaments. We currently have many systems of "wealth redistribution" in America, which were established by Congress and signed into law by the President. I just think they need to be reformed and expanded. Which would happen through Congress and be signed into law by the President.

I'm not entirely sure what sort of anarchist coup d'etat rebellion you think I'm talking about, but I assure you it is entirely inaccurate. No one would die in the process of reforming our laws and social welfare. :P

That's awesome Kait!!! :o they make me want a tattoo! But I'm not that brave... Sadly.

Do you sing your little girl "You are my sunshine"?

Is there anything you thought you would have done by now but haven't done it yet?

What are the top 10 things on your bucket list?

What did you want to be when you were little?

What is one thing you are glad you learned the hard way?

I also used to think I wasn't brave enough. Now look where I am. ;)
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Do you sing your little girl "You are my sunshine"?
I used to! When she was a baby. Now she has very specific songs she likes us to sing at bedtime. :P
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Is there anything you thought you would have done by now but haven't done it yet?
Hmm. I've actually achieved most of my goals. I do think I imagined having a higher-paying job at this point, but I'm working on making that happen. :P
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:What are the top 10 things on your bucket list?
(these are in no particular order)
1. Go to Europe
2. Write and publish a book
3. Eventually become a teacher in some capacity. Either by doing public speaking engagements or being a professor or something.
4. Get a master's degree.
5. Raise my daughter to be awesome.
6. Get one of my poems published.
7. Meet the President.
8. Start a non-profit.
9. Fly in a hot air balloon.
10. Become an amateur mixologist.
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:What did you want to be when you were little?
At first I wanted to be a detective (a la Sherlock Holmes) and I actually had my own little kid detective agency for awhile and was saving up money to buy a bloodhound.

Then I decided I wanted to be an international spy for the FBI. Then I read the job requirements that said you had to know like 40 languages. And I didn't want to learn that many languages.

Then I decided I wanted to be an exotic animal vet.

Then I wanted to be a lawyer.

Now I am none of those things. :P
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:What is one thing you are glad you learned the hard way?
Hm. Good question. I guess that I'm glad I learned the hard way that getting married young is really a poor life choice. If I were to go back in time with my current knowledge and experience, I would not get married when I did. BUT it happened and here I am and I wouldn't be the person I am without my husband and my daughter. I'm so thankful I have two amazing people like them in my life to love and support me.

I've always wanted to be a lawyer too. O.o :D

So, I'm guessing if you don't believe in God, you believe in Evolution?

How can people have rights if we are all only animals evolved?

Does your daughter like pink and dolls? :P

Does she have two middle names?

Do you ever want to have another child? What about a son?

I accept evolution as the best understanding for the development of species over time as we know it.
Miss Friendship wrote:How can people have rights if we are all only animals evolved?
Morality (the concept of human rights included) is a social evolutionary construct. As our species evolved to the point of creating societies, morality came with it. Because without morality to enforce social order and peaceful co-existence, societies couldn't survive.

In much the same ways that laws are social constructs — a set of social contracts we have codified and enforce — so morality is also a social contract we hare largely agreed upon. It makes logical and evolutionary sense for humans to treat each other with respect and to protect vulnerable parts of our population. Social animals (including humans) learned a long time ago that cooperation is a successful long-term strategy for the survival of the species.

Human rights aren't incompatible with evolution. They are a part of it.
Miss Friendship wrote:Does your daughter like pink and dolls? :P
She does, but that isn't all she likes. She also enjoys superheroes, robots, space, cars, trains and many colors other than pink.
Miss Friendship wrote:Does she have two middle names?
She does not.

What is your opinion on prosperity gospel?

I'm happy with one.

If by some strange turn of events I were to change my mind and want another kiddo, he or she would be adopted.

I think prosperity gospel is nonsense. I also think it's predatory.

The Grade A, Master Carpenter latch exported straight outta Fargo is the best kind of latch. :inlove:

MySpace way back in the day. Assuming instant messaging accounts don't count as "social media."

I was 12 when I got my first email.

My favorite subject in my K-12 schooling was probably history. I also really liked spelling, though.

I read most everything in Community Courtyard but that's about it.

Hm. I probably do roll my eyes whenever I encounter beliefs I think are harmful or toxic, whether that's on here or somewhere else.

I don't! I got a PM from Countess when I first joined but I wasn't able to reply because I didn't have enough posts. And I got another PM from Paula once asking me if I wanted to join Mafia. But other than that I have received no PMs nor PMed anyone.

Do you ever wish people would re-ask your deep questions here? :P

What is one thing you’re embarrassed to admit you want to try?

What is the most important material possession you have and why?

If someone were to come across your purse or bag, what would the contents tell them about you?

What embarrasses you the most in front of other people?

Ha. I've never wished it, necessarily. But I do usually think of how I would answer the questions I ask.
Miss Friendship wrote:What is one thing you're embarrassed to admit you want to try?
Hmm. There isn't a whole lot I'm embarrassed about, really. But I guess I've always thought it would be so fun to be on a horrible reality show of some kind. Like The Bachelor or something (which obviously I'm no longer qualified for). But still. It would be fun.
Miss Friendship wrote:What is the most important material possession you have and why?
I thought about this for a long time and can't really come up with anything that I feel is REALLY important. But I guess either my wedding ring (for the obvious reasons) or my iPhone because it is vital for my job and also connects me to all of my friends and family, who are spread across the country. I also have a hope chest that has a lot of things from my childhood, my wedding, and my daughter's early years in it. So that chest is important to me. But it's kind of cheating to choose it since it has lots of things inside. :P
Miss Friendship wrote:If someone were to come across your purse or bag, what would the contents tell them about you?
My purse doesn't actually have a whole lot in it. I carry light. So my purse has my wallet with my ID, debit cards, coffee punch cards, membership cards, business cards and a few dollars cash. I've got some makeup items (lip gloss, concealer, lipstick), deodorant, my phone charger and earbuds. I've also got a pouch with an vaporizer, a cigarillo and a 3/4 empty pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

So. The person would probably figure out I'm a reporter and where I work. They'd know my name and how old I am and that I really like drinking coffee. They'd also know I have tattoos and stretched ears (based on a couple of appointment cards and jewelry I have) and that I drive a Subaru. They would also probably assume I'm a smoker (which I'm not in the usual sense of the word). They'd also know I have an iPhone and shop at WalMart too much.
Miss Friendship wrote:What embarrasses you the most in front of other people?
I am very rarely embarrassed. Which sorta comes when you've already done (and survived!) anything that most people would find embarrassing.

There is a ridiculous story about me one of my best friends always like to tell to pretty much everyone ever and I'm always embarrassed when she does that.

But that's the only thing I can think of. :P
