Because they can do good things there. I don't think we should try to codify the Bible into law but it is clear that the government is God's minister for good.

Yes, according to the most recent Pew study on religion cradle Orthodox are leaving the church at a rate of 50%, the reasons for this have been written about ad nasum. These youth who are leaving have never experienced the faith as their own, their parents aren't good role models, and they don't have other adult role models to show them the faith. Those are all things we could fix by showing the youth what the faith is about, either through being better examples to our children or to other's children in our church.

One with lots of exits and plenty of supplies.

All out war? It makes no sense for us to engage in all out war, there would have to be some kind of goal, maybe Taiwan? If that's the case I would question China's ability to project naval power but at the same time their ability to defeat the US navy is a existential problem where as our ability to defend Taiwan is not. They could afford to throw comparatively cheap torpedoes and subsonic missiles at our aircraft carriers which if sunk would significantly hinder our control of the region. But all out war seems unlikely since neither side would be able to invade the other with any amount of success.
