Did the fact that you had family there influence your decision on going to that college or was it just an added bonus?

It's not family, but family friends.

But yeah, it was part of the reason I chose to go here.

My one friend who's in college doesn't have classes everyday so I'm hoping that this question seems like a good one =P

Go to your classes. Don't skip. Pay attention. Keep notes. A 4.0 GPA isn't everything, though. Participate in other activities and groups. Get to know those you live with. Invest in a planner, and put stuff in it.

And most importantly. Don't wear your lanyard around your neck, it will always peg you as a freshie.

It really depends on what they want to do with their life..if they can get specialized education in some area for their career, then no, but if you don't know what you want to do, college may help you figure out.
