What does being quoted by men have to do with anything? The last one was by a man too. Forgot to add the name. Timothy Leary.

What would you say if two Jehovah witnesses showed up at your doorstep?
Would you be prepared enough to prove the fallacies in their beliefs regarding the Word of God and such?

Why are you a Christian? Why aren't you a Muslim, Mormon, JW or atheist or anything else?

Do you believe there are many ways to God? Why or why not?

If some random person on the street who knew nothing about Christianity, asked you what it is all about in a nutshell, what would you say?

I think any economic and political system is imperfect.

Seems to me that a women would be a better source.

I believe so, I'm currently reading a book about the Incarnation and the nature of Christ and that is the major issue with JW.

I am a Christian because I encountered God in my current parish.

I do not believe there are many ways to God because He has through Scripture, Tradition, and mystical revelation made it clear there is not.

I would say that it is about becoming like Christ because that was what we were created to be like. Only by doing that can we become a true person.

I do not use Excel enough to have a favorite formula

I have, I've also read several of the books.

I usually have an Audiobook in the car, several physical books I'm reading, and then a book on my Kindle. I try to finish about a book a day.

know she has ox horns, and I know
I should beware of her.

Hello, how was your day? What was the best thing that happened? What was the worst? How do you feel inside of yourself? If you were a boat on the ocean what are the skies and seas like? Have you missed me in the debates or are you glad to be free of my emotionalosity?

Approx how many books do you own? How many books do you think you have read in your lifetime?

How big is your desk?

Do you prefer to listen to music loud? If so, how do you study in that? 0_o Are you allergic to just plain silence?

I'm not saying women are better for quotes in general but quotes about women specifically. All three quotes were from men, why?

I thought you were both sheltered and legalistic.

My day was pretty great. My best friend and I had a family over to her place for a swim in the afternoon, the couple in the family are also some of my best friends the wife is the one who told me about Orthodoxy and we were brought into the Church together, we also have the same godparents. My best friend is also the godmother to their oldest child. Then we met 16 of our other friends at a nice restaurant in town for a birthday dinner, my best friend and mine's birthdays are a week apart. Then some of us went back to her place again for a wine tasting with some birthday cake. So yeah, overall great day.

The sea would be green, like after a storm, there would be some gathering clouds on the horizon but the sea would still be mostly calm.

I have missed you in the debates, you should stick around more.

I own 200 books. I think I've read ten thousand books.

Not very big.

I prefer to listen to my music at a normal sound level. I am not allergic to silence but I find it very distracting. I am actually attempting to practice times of silence in my daily prayer rule but it's super hard.

I'd be Anglican, interesting that you didn't give me the choice of being Roman Catholic.

Are the harmonies written out, for your chants/songs/hymns (whatever they are called)? And is it written for 4 parts, or more/less?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! \:D/

I would have liked to said this is a birthday gift from me, but I couldn't come up with 28 questions on my own. I enlisted some help and so its from all of us. I hope you will enjoy answering all these questions at once. :P The goal here is that they will make your day slightly more wonderful than what it would have been without. At least in the SS world of things... :P

I actually know very little about the specific of Orthodox music. I know there are eight tones that we use but this page has a lot more information: https://oca.org/liturgics/learning-the-tones

Aww, thank you guys it's exactly what I wanted.

1. If you were a character in a Disney Princess movie, what would you be like? --Belle
I'd like to say I'd be the heroic guy who gets the princess in the end but I'd probably be the evil court wizard :P
2. What do you think the best argument for the existence of God is? --Dream Big
Personal encounters with God
3. What is your opinion on mechanical pencils? --SirWhit
Generally positive, unless the eraser stops working. That's my biggest problem with them, when they just smudge everything.
4. Are microphones rad? --SirWhit
I mean they project our voices so more people can hear us, is that rad?
5. Do you even lift bro?--SirWhit
I do not
6. If you died tonight, would you think you have lived your life to the fullest for God and your family? --Paula
I wouldn't at this point, I've only been a Christian for five years at this point so I think there's still a lot left for me.
7. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? --Paula
Married hopefully either up in Canada or back here in the DC area running some kind of ministry.
8. Are there any goals that you set for yourself in the past that you've accomplished? --Paula
Yes, getting into college, organizing a conference.
9. Dream girl? --Blitz
One who likes me.
10. Craziest wish? --Blitz
Be a priest
11. Favorite car? --Blitz
One that works
12 Favorite celebrity? --Blitz
Haley Atwell
13. If you were about to be beheaded for your faith and at the last minute your executioner offered to let you go and behead your brother instead, would you consent? --Mandy
This is just another version of a question already asked, I would hope I wouldn't consent but none of us will know until we're in that situation.
14. What is your favorite country to have lived in? --Mandy
Germany, we lived in this house built in the 1600s in the middle of a small German town. We got to explore the city and there were some really nice bike paths just outside the town we would use all the time.
15. Do you enjoy photography or graphic design? --Mandy
I haven't really tried either.
16. Do you want to live to be 100? --Mandy
Not sure, really depends on how aware and mobile I am.
17. Who are you going to vote for in the next election? (for president of the US) --Mandy
No idea, probably no one.
18. What is the top thing on your bucket list? --Ragtag
Finish a college degree that's pretty tops right now
19. What one other language do you wish you knew? --Ragtag
Spanish
20. What is your usual birthday traditions? --Ragtag
Usually I get to pick a place to go out and eat at, most often Olive Garden
21. What is the question you ask yourself most frequently? --Ragtag
Okay, what am I doing now?
22. What is your favourite kind of tree? --Ragtag
Pecan
23. Did you know 28 is a perfect number? --Ragtag
I do now
24. Favorite artist? (paintings) --Isaiah the Ox
Van Gogh
25. Why do you sing songs in Latin and other languages? I mean, the original Church didn't sing in Latin. They most likely sang in their original language... --Isaiah the Ox
I don't sing songs in Latin, I sing them in English. The Orthodox church has always supported services taking place in the vernacular or language of those worshiping. In fact it was Orthodox missionaries who created the Cyrillic alphabet so they could translate services for the Russian and Eastern European people. If I do sing songs in a different language it's because I'm worshiping with people who speak that language.
26. Did you have birthday parties when you were younger? --Isaiah the Ox
I did, especially when we lived in Alabama and had a big backyard and I had a lot of friends we would do themed birthdays. I did a pirate theme one year. When I was older in England and Germany I would do birthdays at the base bowling alley. When I moved here to Virginia I would have video game birthday parties.
27. Have you added any friends or foes on the SS? --Miss Friendship
I have not
28. Have you ever got a virtual birthday gift before? --Miss Friendship
I have
