Do you like answering theology questions?
Does it drive you crazy if you're not writing with a No. 2 pencil?
Can you handle a large amount of hot sauce?
So what holidays do you celebrate? Or do you not celebrate them at all?

yes if it doesn't take me too long to come up with the right answer.Paula wrote:Do you like answering theology questions?

I never write with pencils, just pens.
Yes I love hot stuff.
I celebrate birthdays, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
@Eleventh. Religion just seems like dead rituals and rules. While many Christians may have a religious version of Christianity, that is not what I want. I want a living, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
No I would not call myself Protestant. I believe you already know that. We have discussed it before.
@Blitz. There is literally no other church like ours... But if I had to join a denomination it'd probably be some kind of conservative Mennonites.

So would you call yourself a Christian?
If not, do you consider Christian to be too religious?

Do you think there are Christian denominations with rituals and traditions that have a living and vibrant relationship with Christ?
What distinguishes you from the Protestant group? And would you not trace your groups roots to the Reformation? Also what are your thoughts on the Five Solas?

We don't have a standard length for skirts but I'm guessing it'd probably be mid-calf length or something. Anyhow, I like my dresses to brush the tops of my feet. It's so elegant.

Sometimes, but I don't have any good stuff right now. I think it got melted it my purse when I left it in the van a few times.

@Wakko. Yes I call myself a Christian. No, I do not think Christian sounds to religious.

@SirWhit. I don't know you as well as some of the others but I think you are a nice, level headed guy; you are a bit vague, usually pretty serious, but you also have a dry sense of humor. You don't have much patience for conservatives like MF and I but you try.

@Eleventh. Denominations can not have a living vibrant relationship with Jesus. It has to be each person individually. I believe there are people in every denomination who are true Christians. But there are also hypocrites in every denomination too. There is no denomination or church where you can be sure everyone has a true life-changing relationship with God. Belonging to the perfect church does not insure one's salvation.
How would I distinguish myself from Protestants and what do I think of the 5 solas? *sighs* Remember when we discussed this in PM? I don't necessarity feel like going into all of that again...
I would not say that our group traces its roots back to the reformers. We have all come from different backgrounds. One family was Amish, one was gothic, one was Nazarene, another family was Methodist. etc. We have all come out of different places.
Also, I was talking to my dad about the religion thing and he reminded me of the verse about pure and undefiled religion. I'm not sure where the verse is found... But anyhow I guess that means there a false kind a religion and a true kind.

Do you think people who have a living vibrant relationship with Jesus can be helped in that relationship by rituals and traditions?
Are those not all branches of the Reformers?

As far as beliefs, you and "conservative Mennonites" are 90% the same, wouldn't you. Because I thought that you were similar to us and we are similar to Mennonites. You would all be under the same denomination (going by the dictionary definition) of Anabaptist though. Although there would be slight variations in few things like church meeting and things.Mandy wrote:@Blitz. There is literally no other church like ours... Or am totally wrong????
I've only been to your church once before though so I'm not certain.

Also, you mentioned earlier that you are not part of any religion. So if I would ask you if you were a Christian you would say "no"?
I am a little mixed up.

Jay... Yes our churches are similar, but our meetings are very informal and unstructored. Neither of our churches would be under any denomination but we'd be put in the category of Anabaptists...
I was merely saying that we are a bit unique.
The time you visited our church wasn't very good because my dad wasn't there and he usually sorta leads the meeting. Plus, we had several weirdos there that day.
I guess I was wrong about the religion part. There is a good kind of religion.
Eleventh, Amish would be from the Anabaptists and gothic would NOT be from the Reformers.
Anyhow, we have all changed a lot and are different from our relevites so we don't place a lot of stock in our roots or whatever.

Thanks for the clarification.
And by the way Anabaptist is a denomination just like Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox. Mennonite is a group (or sub-denomination, often just called denomination) inside the Anabaptist denomination just like Amish or Hutterites. The word denomination is used in different ways a lot.

Anababists were reformers. Mennonites, baptists, and a few other denominations came out from them.

Blitz, I would NEVER become Amish!!
Paula, do I really have to pick someone?
There's at least 3 guys on here that have really great personalities that I really like but I would never marry one of them!
Yes I love taking pictures for memories sake. Sadly, my camera quit working last month and I'm about going crazy without it.
Helios. You are funny, sweet, enthusiastic, empathetic, crazy, and outgoing. You think about boys about 99.9% of the time. You are fun loving and enjoy teasing and torturing your friends.
All in all, you are wonderful and awesome and marvelously fun!!!

I know you'd never marry them =P I was asked the same question, so just pick a guy that you get along with and wouldn't argue with every second of the day.
