I don't have an obsession. And yes, he talks. At midnight.

I get permission very seldom anymore. :(

Do you sing? What part do you sing?

Have you ever gone cliff jumping?

Do you swim in a skirt?

I actually do not enjoy dirt at all. :P
kait wrote:Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Married with 4 children. Or in prison suffering from ISIS who took over the world. Or traveling the world doing mission work. Or... I have no idea. O.o But I do want to be doing something to change the world for the better, however and whatever that may be.
kait wrote:Who was the last person you spoke to (IRL) and what did you say?
I said, "NOOOOO." (In response to my brother asking if he needed a haircut.)
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Why are you asking everyone the questions I asked you?
I asked the two that WD didn't agree with my answer on. I wanted to hear what others had to say. :D
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Do you sing? What part do you sing?
Yep. Soprano. \:D/
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Have you ever gone cliff jumping?
Nope. O.o Sounds fun. :D
NinjaThrowingStar wrote:Do you swim in a skirt?
Sometimes, mostly in a dress though. (Actually I swim in a dress not because I have to, but to shock all the Mennonite girls who think I am NUTS to do so.) :D #Reactionary. (And yes, to any who might wonder, it's quite possible to swim in a long dress)

Is your status on the ToO all "Holier than Thou"? (for reference, her status says: "I am better than you because I follow my own interpretation of Scripture, and since you don't, I must be better than you.") Let's make an example of your status. The "world" is a box of crayons, and not looking like the world would be...say...a chicken bone. Together, one of the crayons can draw a picture with one color, it can even draw on the chicken bone! But, what can the chicken bone do to or for the crayon...Ummm... nothing. However, a different colored crayon can draw a picture with the first crayon, and this time with two colors! It can also make a third color, by mixing the two crayons together. So yes, being different is important. But, no one in the world is the same, we are all our own color crayons...some are similar shades, yes, but we are still all different. Please explain what you really mean (even though probably I already have guessed ).

To start with, I wouldn’t be on the SS. :P My life would probably be wrapped up in fashion, my heroes would be the movie stars and celebrities, terrible impure friends, you name it. I can’t imagine I would have found God on my own.
kait wrote:Can you describe a time that you've felt or heard God?
Once, a few years ago, I was so utterly in despair, and I felt rejected by God because I hadn’t been living up to His standards of obedience, and I doubted everything. I was particularly questioning the popular thing that “God loves everyone no matter what you do.” I was sure there was a limit and I had reached it. I remember looking up at the sky and scoffing God. “You don’t love me, and you don’t care that I’m in pain. I might as well be dead since I can’t live in peace. Why don’t you kill me?” But even in my bitterness, I was so desperate, that I decided to give God one chance. It was a cloudy overcast day and the clouds were really thick. I looked up, “If you love me, even though I am nothing more than a wild hateful person, take that thick cloud and melt it away, and leave all the other clouds there. If it doesn’t happen, you don’t love me.” I remember waiting, and nothing happened. I was about to turn away when I saw the cloud grow smaller and then in utter astonishment I watched it fade completely away, leaving only blue sky. I have never doubted that God loved me since.

First of all, I am a bit astonished that my simple-status-that-no-one-has-to-read is so offensive to you. If you don’t like it, ignore it. -_-

Growing up in the Anabaptist culture, I often hear people complain with this old refrain. “I am in bondage because of this dress and culture. If I really want to reach the world for Jesus, I am going to throw all of this away so they feel more comfortable around me.” And that is silly because the people of God’s Kingdom by very definition should behave completely different in attitude, and for some this includes a different culture altogether, than the World’s Kingdom. So my status is what I have to say to them.

So if you think we are all different crayons, go ahead. But belonging to God’s Kingdom means a total different way from thinking, so it’s going to be as opposite as a crayon to a chicken bone. And yes, if are just like the world, and they have it accepted you as their own, then I would be scared if that’s the case.
Blitz wrote:What is your opinion on emotional faith?
I think WD had a good answer on this on his thread. But I would say we cannot base our faith and beliefs off of our emotions. We need something solid to build that on. But neither can we ignore our emotions and conscience since God gave that to us for a reason. God speaks to us through that.
Blitz wrote:How different do you consider yourself from the majority of the people here?
Very different in culture. Same as in I belong to the same country as most of you do, and am a normal person. :P So, go figure. We are really different from each other, and all really not at the same time.

...No. Not even close.

For those who are interested in intellectual honesty, her status actually says "If you look like the world, then you have nothing to offer it", which is actually a good point. I disagree with how you express it, MF, but we've already hashed that out, and as near as I can tell, we both have respect for one another, and you respect the beliefs of other people who disagree with you, even if you used to express it a bit abrasively.

Seriously, just because someone who holds highly conservative values expresses an opinion doesn't mean we all need to have collective aneurysms.

HEY! I haven't had an aneurysm in a while...it was about time. Plus, I'm a bully, it's what I do.

I sort of agree with her, but that can apply to anything, not just being a Christian. Darwin, Einstein, Picasso; they were all "different," and they contributed much to our world. Thinking out of the box is usually how new ideas are brought in. ;)

What do you think about the role of the spirit?
What are your thoughts on divine revelation happening now?
Do you think we should listen when we pray rather than just talking?
Do you swim in a special dress bathing suit or in a straight up dress? What do the Mennonite girls swim in?

Thanks Tiger. And I would like to say that I do have that level of respect for everyone here regardless whether or not they believe like me.

Isaiah the Ox wrote:When you first joined, did you think you would receive a nickname, and if so, what did you think it would be?
When I first joined, I only did so because Mandy wanted me too. And for a long while I didn't think past the debates that I hurled myself into. So, I didn't really think about it. (I didn't know these online people would give me a nick) :P
aragtaghooligan wrote:if you had to give me a nickname what would it be?
Outside of your username? Rissi :P
aragtaghooligan wrote:What do you think about the role of the spirit?
I'm not sure if you mean our spirit, or the Holy Spirit. But either way, both are extremely important.
aragtaghooligan wrote:What are your thoughts on divine revelation happening now?
I think the last revelation God gave was the New Testament and there are no more prophets coming. Jesus was the last. So I don't think it happens.
aragtaghooligan wrote:Do you think we should listen when we pray rather than just talking?
Yesss, this is very important. We should listen for God's voice as much as we talk to Him.
aragtaghooligan wrote:Do you swim in a special dress bathing suit or in a straight up dress? What do the Mennonite girls swim in?
Normally in an old dress because every thing my Mom has sewed up I feel uncomfortable in. Mennonite girls swim in, well....nothing they would be seen in public with.

By definition revelation is "the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world." When God speaks to us He isn't giving us particular insight that has never been taught before in scripture. What He says will always be in agreement with scripture.
Mandy wrote:What do you think is your most outstanding talent?

Patience.
