Album 59: Taking the Plunge Discussion

You know, they could cut six OAC episodes, and put the money saved off of that into more AIO for us mortals who can't pay $180 dollars a year...

That would just mean less money for them. I didn't really realize they were in financial trouble. I just hope they don't do something drastic, like cut out normal albums altogether and force people to subscribe to OAC. If it's really this serious, why don't they do a fundraiser like "Save Odyssey" or something?

And, PF, it seems that it kind of is confirmed. The package says 2 hours of audio entertainment, and since Album 60 is coming out in 2016, I don't see how we can expect a half album in between them. I mean, if Album 59 had a counterpart package, it seems like they would have told us by now,

Do you listen to the Official Podcast? In the interview about the OAC, they said one of the reasons they started it was BECAUSE they didn't have enough money to continue AIO without more money.

I just got this email from Dave Arnold:

Hi Ashley,

No, not split, but they moving forward our albums will be in six episode configurations. Were doing this as a result of input from buyers and sellers who say that they would prefer that we release our product more often and with a lower price point. By making this change, we’ll be able to release two six episode packages of new material per year (people won’t have to wait for the twelve episodes to be produced before being able to purchase them), and each package will be sold at a lower price, which we hope helps as well.

The albums may wind up with cliffhangers, depending on whether we decide to do longer story archs, but they won’t be a/b albums like we did years ago.

I wouldn't say it's required listening, but I would recommend you listen to it for the most official news.

Album 60 isn't part of Album 59, they're just contained in the same season. It wouldn't make sense for Album 60 to be released before 59.
AIO has done that sort of thing once, and that was with Albums 12 and 13, the numbering of which they later swapped. But that doesn't mean it makes sense.

I used to listen to the Official Podcast a lot, but I started to find it boring, plus I didn't really have much time for it anyway, so I probably haven't listened to a full episode in over a year.

Actually, I didn't listen either for about a year. Then I started listening again. The news is never news at all, I listen because of the interviews.

What I meant to say(but didn't explain very well) is to wonder if album 59 will be released in 2015, and than in Febuary or March of 2016, album 60 will come out.

I do hope they focus on some of the other characters of AIO. Penny and Wooten, have been pretty big characters in the last album. Im hoping that we will see more of Jason in Album 59 and some kids other than the Parker Family..
For Penny and Wooten I hope this all works out!
After album 58, I'm ready for some fun episodes that don't deal with such deep, mature subjects. 58 was ok, but its not one that i would listen over and over again like the older ones.
This plot with Buck is interesting and I'm excited to see what will come out of it!

For the Official Podcast, I love listening to it! It's definitely is a great place for news and free episodes:)
