Come come, does this not sound exactly like latch? *snigger*
latch wrote:I don't know that many people personally. I generally stop liking a person once I've learned about their character. With strangers it's more just superficial, not quite with the depth that I get from friends.
I imagine you don't get the depth you would like, no.

Lucky.

Pics or it didn't happen. O.o

Seriously did not expect you to answer that.

When you are talked out, WHAT THEN? Do you like ice cubes in your drinks? When is the last time you felt self-conscious? What makes you laugh out loud? Do you have any lemonade for me?

Here are a few of them. http://oi68.tinypic.com/5ueknm.jpg

I stop talking. =p

I do not.

Hmm. That generally has negative connotations with it. Self-aware? Always. Self-conscious.. I'm coming up short there. I don't have any memories of being awkward/embarrassed recently in that regard.

Dirty jokes! =]
But also lots of other things. I don't have a list for you, my apologies.

No, but I do have some milk.

What's something you've been self-aware of LATELY?

Do you bake anything at Christmastime? Do you like any mixed drinks? Where is the coolest place you've been to in the past year? Coolest place you're going in the next year?

How I respond to people when they talk with me.

I do not.

Hmm, I haven't had many fancy ones, but I do like Manhattans. And a good bloody mary. A mudslide, here and there. I don't often drink alcohol without enjoying it.

The Plains Art Museum in Chicago! Or the tattoo convention that was going on while I was there. A really spiffy climbing spot on a tree by the river nearby. Skydiving? That was a cool place to be. I popped over to Quebec for a quick weekend roadtrip. I DON'T HAVE JUST ONE ULTIMATE BEST.

Hard to say, though I'm fairly certain the Grand Canyon is on the list.

Do you want a tattoo? DO YOU HAVE A TATTOO? What kind of skydiving...are we talking being dropped from the sky, or floating on a giant fan in a building? How many projects are you working on right now? Do you feel you reach perfection in projects or art? Does it bother you if you don't? Do you want things to be imperfect? Describe your ideal relationship. Is there an aspect of traveling that you don't enjoy? If you got 20 miles from home and realized you forgot something REALLY important, but not VITAL, would you go back for it?

Yes, I have a tattoo with plans to get many more.

Dropped from the sky in a tiny little bucket of tin.

Presently? Only a few. But there are hundreds in my head, bouncing around in the empty spaces.

Art.

Yes. It's often frustrating to not get what I was going for, in projects, art, work, anything. But it's a learning process, so I use it to my advantage as much as possible.

Sometimes, yes. Imperfection is beautiful. It depends entirely on the subject at hand. I'm far more interested in abstract art than realistic. With woodworking? I'm striving for perfection, or at least the standard I have set.

Open (yes, that kind of open) and honest. Independent. Flying free, next to a partner of my choosing.

Of course there are. Being a nomad comes with its fair share of inconveniences. I just happen to think it's worth all the trouble.

I'd say that depends entirely on the situation at hand. What is it I forgot? Where am I going? Does it matter if I'm delayed? Am I leaving for two hours or two months?

Picture? What do you want next? Or some ideas bouncing around that head of yours.

DID YOU SCREAM?

SUCH AS? Lordy it's like pulling teeth. Specifics. Specifics are what we need here.

If you could visit any of our close planets, which would it be? Are you as unique as you think you are? Do you still like VW vans? If money grew on trees, would you pay someone to chop them down for you? What makes you feel LAME?

It's a geometric pattern with pops of colour. A friend drew it for me. Next will likely be something resembling the Native American pottery designs. I'm quite fond of how those look.
Dom wrote: DID YOU SCREAM?
Nope. It took my breath away quite literally.
Dom wrote:SUCH AS? Lordy it's like pulling teeth. Specifics. Specifics are what we need here.
Every aspect of life changes when you're camping or travelling. It's more difficult to bathe, stay hydrated, get and maintain a decent food supply, use the restroom, all of it. Every day has new challenges. When I was driving around the country for a few months, things like getting food and finding a good place to camp were probably the most difficult. The best part? Sleeping in the middle of the woods, under a piece of tarp. The mild annoyances are just that: mild.
Dom wrote:If you could visit any of our close planets, which would it be?
Jupiter, I think. And in this hypothetical world, oxygen and pressure aren't a problem and I'd start a little bean farm, read my books, and drink my whiskey.
Dom wrote:Are you as unique as you think you are?
That's not something I spend a lot of time thinking about. Human beings are vastly complex, and as such they are unique. The need to feel unique has a lot to do with comparing your own traits and abilities to others', and I don't consider that to be immensely important.
Dom wrote:Do you still like VW vans?
Not nearly as much as I used to. It's graduated on to become a solid plan to build myself a tiny house.
Dom wrote:If money grew on trees, would you pay someone to chop them down for you?
Nope. I don't care for it.
Dom wrote:What makes you feel LAME?
Most people get stuck into a habit of putting too much pressure on themselves to perform a certain way. So, in that regard, I sometimes make myself feel lame for not being BETTER.

Yes, I am with you on the awesomeness of tiny housi. (That is the new plural for houses, so sayeth the Dom.)

Even if having it allowed you to travel endlessly without having to stop to work?!

Do you not think it's a big deal to permanently mark your body for the rest of your life? Do you think you'll look back and regret your FOOLISH CHOICES when you're 90 and have mangled ink sagging everywhere? Just curious. :wacky:

Do you drink enough water? Do you have a favorite breed of dog, or are you above such frivolity? Why do you think you want an open relationship? Does your family know of THAT SIDE of you?

I very much enjoy the work I do, I wouldn't want to stop. While money is a bother and I dislike that it even exists, I do pretty well at making it work for me instead of letting it control my actions.
Dom wrote:Do you not think it's a big deal to permanently mark your body for the rest of your life? Do you think you'll look back and regret your FOOLISH CHOICES when you're 90 and have mangled ink sagging everywhere? Just curious. :wacky:
If I thought it was foolish, I wouldn't have done it. No, I don't think I'll regret it. If I do, it's my consequence to live with, not anyone else. Tattoos are great and I enjoy having my body be a fixture for artistic purposes. This is the only life I get, I won't go wasting something as silly as regret on some skin. I'm just organic matter that will eventually decompose.
Dom wrote:Do you drink enough water?
Most days I drink quite a lot. It's not as easy to accomplish when I'm working outside or it's winter. That being said, I've been dehydrated a lot at work recently.
Dom wrote:Do you have a favorite breed of dog, or are you above such frivolity?
Siberian Husky. =]
Dom wrote:Why do you think you want an open relationship? Does your family know of THAT SIDE of you?
Because I have one, and I like it. Because I know myself and what I want. And no, probably not. We don't talk on that sort of level most of the time, save for a few family members. I imagine even if they do know, they'd just prefer me to be happy in whatever way I find it. It's something I talk with my friends about, not necessarily my family.

Must be nice.

Are you afraid of yourself? Who is the coolest person on earth? Why is personality more important than looks? If you could make anything you wanted with wood, what would it be? What is a bad habit you should stop?

Death is a beautiful thing, and I think it's beyond incredible that my plants have dead people and animals in them.
Dom wrote:Are you afraid of yourself?
Sometimes, yes. Not often at all. I'm more afraid of the apathetic state I occasionally get into.
Dom wrote:Who is the coolest person on earth?
Latch? Yeah, latch.
Dom wrote:Why is personality more important than looks?
Because the essence of a person has very little to do with their elastic membrane.
Dom wrote:If you could make anything you wanted with wood, what would it be?
A cabin, and I will.
Dom wrote:What is a bad habit you should stop?
Smoking.

Charming. O.o

I agree, but it does influence me, even so. But I have fallen in love with people I didn't consider attractive. It was interesting.

What is beautiful about death? What's beautiful about life? Do you want kids someday? Where do you see yourself in 30 years?

I shall use a quote I've been partial to for many years.. 'From my rotting body flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity' - Edvard Munch

Life? Too many things to list. The way grass reaches up to be fed by sunshine. We can *feel* songs. Fall in love with people, ideas, movements. The way water cycles around the earth, and we're all just floating along in space.

I've never wanted kids, so unless something changes - nope.

A master carpenter, exploring the earth. Facing new challenges and meeting more lovely people than I can imagine. Building my cabin in the woods.

So you believe in reincarnation? O.o

Have you ever fallen in love?

How old are you?

Do you prefer the west to the east? If so, why? Have you ever lived in the east?

I'm not sure that I believe in it wholeheartedly, but a small part of my mind thinks it's a possibility. Not a definitive way to prove otherwise. But, the quote was more meant to symbolize the cycle of dead human beings continuing life through feeding plants. Not becoming plants. =p
Miss Friendship wrote:Have you ever fallen in love?
Yes.
Miss Friendship wrote:How old are you?
Still 23, same as when you asked ten days ago. =]
Miss Friendship wrote:Do you prefer the west to the east? If so, why? Have you ever lived in the east?
As far as globally, or within the United States? If you're talking about globally, I've been to Germany and Mexico.. I wouldn't consider that enough to say I prefer one side of the globe over another. Within the United States? The west, absolutely. I'm drawn to Montana in particular. I've lived in a fair amount of places throughout the States, but not in the 'East'.

Poetic. And morbid. Why not, "From my rotting body, maggots shall feed"? *sees nothing beautiful about death*

What are some of the MOST AMAZING songs that you "feel"?

*high five*

Will that cabin have internet?

Do you get carsick? Can you read for long periods of time while riding in a car? Have you ever been subjected to the I Spy game in a car with a kid for EXTREMELY LONG PERIODS OF TIME? Do you have an aversion to kids, or just don't want your own? Why are you opposed to buying in bulk, when you say you like to make your money work for you and it's so much cheaper? Do you have a piano again?

I was meaning within the United States.

If you found an abandoned infant along the side of a road and it would freeze to death unless you took it in and raised it all it's life long, would you do it?

Is there a difference between capital Latch and lowercase latch? When is each usage appropriate?

Some recent ones:
Stateless - Bloodstream
Macklemore - Otherside
OneRepublic - Au Revoir
Chet Faker - Talk is Cheap
Bjork - Mutual Core
Hans Zimmer - Coward
Tool - Rosetta Stoned
Dom wrote:Will that cabin have internet?
It might, I'm not sure. That's one of those small details that will get figured out in a few decades.
Dom wrote:Do you get carsick?
Nope.
Dom wrote:Can you read for long periods of time while riding in a car?
Yes.
Dom wrote:Have you ever been subjected to the I Spy game in a car with a kid for EXTREMELY LONG PERIODS OF TIME?
I have not.
Dom wrote:Do you have an aversion to kids, or just don't want your own?
A little of both. It depends a lot on the parents - it's safe to say there are only a few kids I'm partial to.
Dom wrote:Why are you opposed to buying in bulk, when you say you like to make your money work for you and it's so much cheaper?
I buy some things in bulk, when I know I'll use them in a reasonable time-frame. I don't like the responsibility of having a lot of stuff when there's no great necessity for it.
Dom wrote:Do you have a piano again?
Nope!

I have no idea what kind of crazy circumstances would create that sort of chaos, but I imagine I'd act in a manner directed at saving its life.

Not particularly, if it happens to be the beginning of a sentence I'll capitalize it. Not a lot of emotional thought behind it. You can use whichever you'd like.

Passion, dedication, strength. Challenges. Beauty in unexpected places.
