I would say, how far do you take that? Do you as a women need to start having children as soon as you're married and continue doing so as long as you are physically able? Because if not you're not allowing people to be born.

But I really don't see this idea that there is some giant pool of people waiting to be born who will perish if you decide not to have children.

I have a Kindle, I don't read books online, I listen to some audio books, I do borrow hard copies from friends and buy them from time to time but haven't borrowed from the library in awhile.

I actually really think that is how some of my friends view this. My parents had 7 children but it was spread out and my Mom has always been in great health. Another family I know has had 6 children in six years. I always pity that mother, who is constantly on the brink of exhaustion. Its almost like she is a baby machine instead of a woman. And if that's what is expected of me, I will never marry.

On the other hand I do feel a bit selfish if I think I am going to be in control of what I want and don't want when God should be in control of every aspect of my life.

They can't perish if they don't exist, but that unplanned for child could be a world changer and giving life to someone is one great gift.

Speaking of books, have you ever read Cheaper than a Dozen? :P

I think you should have as many children as God wants you to have and that takes discernment. What I don't see is a universal command to have as many children as physically possible. I think it's up to the individual.

I have read Cheaper by the Dozen. It was my favorite book growing up and my dad used to read it to us all the time. It remains a very influential book to me as I still think of ways to do things more efficiently.

Don't you think the family wouldn't have been near as interesting had they only 3 or 4 children?

Keep in mind those were not fiction characters in a made up book. They were real.

So, have you ever watched any of Ray Comforts movies or trailers? Seen the trailer of Audacity?

Have you ever watched the movie Sheffay? What about Pride and Prejudice?

Do you keep journal? Ever kept one everyday for a year?

Ever tried contacts vs. glasses?

Cheaper by the Dozen is actually an autobiographical novel which means it's a fictional account that in this case is based on real people.

I have seen several of their trailers

I haven't seen Sheffay. Which P&P? The BBC or the recent remake?

I have kept a journal at various times.

I have never tried contacts.

What do you think about Kent Hovind?

The BBC.

Do you enjoy trying new things?

I get nervous easily when I'm in charge of something. I do not get offended easily. These days I do sad pretty easily. I forgive easily. I get mad easily when I'm in traffic.

The church I was going to when I was like 7 did a Kent Hovind lecture series that I attended and quite enjoyed at the time. Now though I know that he has no training or education in the subjects he's talking about, believes that 9/11 & the Oklahoma City Bombing were done by the government, believes that there is a new world order conspiracy preventing Creationism from being taught in the public schools, and is guilty of tax evasion which is why he is currently in prison.

I love the BBC version and have watched it many time. In high school I was actually in a stage production of P&P.

I do not enjoy trying new things.

What sort of things cheer you up?

Yes, Kent obviously has some major issues. I always was a bit turned off by his pride. But besides believing in conspiracys, was his facts about science that he used in his debates wrong? (He did recently get out of prison btw)

I love that version too. It's my favorite secular movie. Really? Did you play a character?

Spending time with friends or reading a good book.

I haven't seen him debate before and the lectures I saw were a really long time ago so I don't remember much of the details. However as I said he has no education or background that would make him qualified to speak to these issues and his willingness to believe crazy conspiracy theories makes him someone I do not trust to know good facts from bad. True, he was released to house arrest this month.

I did, I played Mr. Darcy.

The only times I've heard him is in debates with Evolutionists and he really can stump quite a few of them. Why do you judge that someone's facts must be wrong if they have other wrong beliefs? Just because he has some crazy ideas that you disagree with does not mean that he therefore cannot possibly write his name, be good at math, or know his science.

That's cool. :) What are your favorite scenes in the movie?

Did I say he couldn't possibly write his name or be good at math? I was saying he doesn't have the background to talk about this issue authoritatively. He has a background in Christian Education not science and his judgement on other issues speaks to his judgement on the creationist issue. After all, if he's willing to look at the facts and come to the conclusion that our own government was behind 9/11 why should I assume he can objectively consider the facts about science?

This view really isn't adding up to your example of bees and flowers. I think it's very possible here to ignore the wrong beliefs and glean truth Kent does have to share. And to think you are making all these judgement calls on his facts when you have never heard him debate. How can you really know? It's the same with Ray Comforts movies. You've never even watched them and yet you are such a skeptic. How can one be a true skeptic until you've heard both sides?

Kent obviously has reasons for believing what he does about 9/11. And I can respect his beliefs even though I disagree. He might even have reason for what he is believing. I have never yet heard of a solid explanation for why building 7 simply fell, when it was not hit by an airplane.

Do you think an Athiest can objectively look at facts from science?

I am skeptical about their process for arriving at their views. As I've said Kent specifically doesn't arrive at his views by scientific study, given his lack of background in science. As for Ray Comforts I have watched some of his trailers and clips of him and Kirk Cameron and I have never agreed with them.

I just can't respect someone who holds that belief about 9/11.

I think it depends on the Atheist as not all Atheist are the same.

Well, I think we finished this conversation elsewhere...

You didn't answer one of my last questions. What are your favorite scenes in the movie?

The scene where Elizabeth and Darcy first meet, the wit in that scene is very enjoyable.

Also the scene where Elizabeth finds out that Darcy helped with Mr Wickham and watching her opinion of him change.
