I believe there are individuals with prophetic and other spiritual gifts still with us today. I've talked to people who have interacted with these individuals. Most of them are to be found among monastics.

I was reading a priest on prayer and he said that when praying the mind must descend into the heart so that the heart can warm the cold logic of the mind. I'm not such a fan of the public preaching because I think it's impersonal and abrasive. Personal witnessing can be effective if it involves a personal relationship with a person willing to listen.
