I can't believe you would say such horrendously false things about Eugene and then gush over boring Emily. You are so messed up, PF.

I said that. But I might've been quoting someone else. I'm not sure. But if I was, it was probably Countess. =P

If someone were standing over you with a sword, telling you to deny Jesus or else you'd be chopped into a million pieces, what would you do?

What do you usually do to vent/calm your anger?

What is your career goal?

Favorite SS forum?

Funnest thing you've done this summer?

Liz.

Favorite episodes: Honorable mention: Broken Window. Favorites: 3, Hindsight. 2. GRC 1. Around the Block

I am very fond of, "For Whom the Wedding Bells Toll." It's one of my absolute favorites. If you bring it up because of Connie's crush, it's made clear in the episode she almost made herself fall in love simply because others were having major events in their lives.
Miss Friendship wrote:Sometimes... one needs to take a deep breath and just smile and grit their teeth after reading certain things.
But it's true. Connie and Whit are even worse.

Kick his hand.
Mandy wrote:What do you usually do to vent/calm your anger?
If I'm angry at someone physically present, I'll sometimes start talking in a squeaky voice. This somehow vents stress for me, and at least I'm not yelling. Merely being annoying. If I'm just generally angry, tea and Jane Austen helps.

My career goal is to never have to work.

Character discussion.

Burn down the Focus on the Family Headquarters. That was fun.

Connie had no crush in For Whom the Wedding Bells Toll. Are you referring to another episode?

Oh yes. That's Love is in the Air. For Whom, oh, right. That one's a lot of fun. Connie holding out on Jason and the listener till we want to strangle her. The scenes between Jack and Joanne. Quite frankly, I even like Margaret Faye as a character a lot.

Rrrg, toughy. Probably Northanger Abbey. Charming plot and settings. I identify with the main character. Henry Tilney is Austen's masterpiece of literary suitors.

And what about the all round famous Pride and Prejudice? Favorite version of that movie?

No, I already hacked your account.

Nothing, I haven't seen it.

It's brilliant of course. Very funny, with arguably Austen'st most companionable leading lady. Austen's insights into society, social interaction, and humanity are at their height. There isn't anything to say about that someone hasn't.

None. I haven't seen any. Or a single episode of Who. Or Home Alone. Or Back to the Future. Lion King is overrated. The new Karate Kid is better. Yes, this time this is all serious. Come at me.

What is your favorite thing about Jane Austen's writings? Her ability to build a character? Poetic descriptions? Good story lines? Some other thing I didn't mention?

I'm mildly interested. Seeing styles from the time period would be nice, sometimes its hard to imagine interesting costumes for them. I'd also like to see their personas captured and maybe get a different take on the characters than I imagined. Other than that, not especially. When I see a movie of a book, part of the reason is some things are cool to see as a movie. The Hunger Games, Aslan's Resurrection, Falkor in Neverending Story. With Jane Austen, I'm supposed to be excited about seeing people... Standing and talking, sitting and talking, walking and talking. Yay. I do plan to see one eventually and I'll very possibly enjoy it when I do. It's just not high on my list.

Her characters are great. Her descriptions are fine but not outstanding. Her stories are good but that's not quite it either. Probably the way the characters interact. Austen has an endless repertoire of situations, conversational undertones, and character collisions.

Why, ello, Helios, sir. No, not really. Chistimas Carol was amazing, as was A Tale of Two Cities. Cities was surprisingly readable. I've just never felt much draw to his multiple, "Boy has nasty life, lower class people try to pull him in, upper class people also liking him, winds up with upper class friends, boy and friends get money so yay, people die" stories. I enjoyed the Focus adaption of Oliver Twist though.

Do you actually like the name Emily? Like, would you name your daughter that?

Ever read any of L.M. Montgomery's books?

Names you'd consider for your children?

Do you regret any of the flirting you did on the SS?

The name Emily is fairly pretty, nothing special perhaps. I probably wouldn't (name a daughter that.)
Miss Friendship wrote:Ever read any of L.M. Montgomery's books?
L.M. Montgomery. Oh gosh, L.M. is great and Anne is just such a great person to be with, she's as much a force as a person, she is so thoroughly who she is, so absolutely herself through, almsot paradoxically, pretending to be other things and pretending one thing is another and living through books and poetry, and yet just by so fully embracing who she is even though she doesn't like how she looks and tries to amend her flaws she causes things to happen and winds up in problems and she makes people change for the better just by being so fully herself in their lives and so different and all she's doing is jumping on a woman in her bed or chewing another out for being rude to her or smacking a boy over the head for insulting her and then they end up happier because of it and it makes you wonder what would happen if you were mor like her and I love her so much and her books make me so haaaapy!

Never heard of this L.M.
Miss Friendship wrote:Names you'd consider for your children?
Billy or Bonnie, Eowyn, Estelle, Louie, Triss, Monique, Maple, Valiance.
Miss Friendship wrote:Do you regret any of the flirting you did on the SS?
Opening that can of worms, eh? Not on the SS, but in the chat, definitely. At first it was pretty harmless, just between me and Suzy who knew it was in fun. But it ended doing some damage when others wanted in on it. So that was a terrible shame and it ended in a girl getting banned. A lot of that was my fault. The joke is still going between me and Sweetie Lou, though.
Paula wrote:What would you do if I handed you a 10 dollar bill?

It's pretty. Probably my favorite.

I'm actually making my way through Insurgentt. The shame.
