Can you please check your clothes and see how many have more than one fiber?
Also, western dresses from the 18th century would be immodest by Old Testament standards, should we have men and women dress in clothing from Old Testament Israel?

We can discuss multiple topics, one of which is do you follow the standard of one fiber?
Should we wear robes like they did in OT Israel and use their standard for modesty?

It says no mixed fibers, hence one fiber.

Why should you not cover the entire body?
You know, you're absolutely right. Let me go find a veil.
Tell me, what do you think about skinny jeans? (On men or women.)

the girls in gabbygirl17's avatar are dressed modestly.
If I can easily see your features, it is immodest.Wakko wrote:Tell me, what do you think about skinny jeans? (On men or women.)

They aren't modest by the standard of Old Testament Israel, shouldn't that be our standard? If it isn't then what is our standard?

You say that it's dependent on culture, and then you say our culture is not modest by your arbitrary standard a.k.a the 1800s. That's a bit hypocritical, don't you think?
What scripture are you referring to?

We're referring to the style of dress that was worn back in Old Testament Israel. What scripture do you use to determine what is modest? Is there a verse that says if you can see the bodies form its immodest?

If you can see the body's features why even bother wearing clothing?

Really? You see no difference between total nudity and being able to see the body's form underneath clothing? If that's the case shouldn't everyone, male and female, wear head to toe robes that completely hide the body?

And we're asking, what standard do you use to determine modesty? Is it the culture at the time of the Old Testament or is it another culture? There are no specifics in Scripture as far as tightness of clothing or length of pants/dresses so how do you decide the specifics? Please answer this question directly.

If you don't know what a burqa is, I would suggest you look it up.Mr. Yorp wrote:Burqas?

You said, and I quote, "If you can see the body's form why even bother wearing clothing?". I can easily see a body's "form" when the person is wearing a loose-fitting T-shirt and sweatpants, so obviously even baggy clothes aren't modest enough. And I would like to point out that you can, in fact, see a woman's figure even (and sometimes especially) if she's wearing a skirt.
If a man looks at a woman's fully-clothed body and starts imagining her with said clothing off, that's his problem, not hers.
