What was the common dress?
(Q: What do you think of short-shorts or skinny jeans?)

Well there was a big change in fashion in the West from 1910 to 1920, the 1920s introduced what is known as the flapper look that got rid of many of the restrictive undergarments worn by women and also introduced short hair in women as fashionable. The 1920s were also the decade that normalized women in pants. If you have any other regions of the world you're thinking of I can expand on the fashions there.
I have no opinions one way or another on those clothing items.

For now, I would rather not approve even if you argue. 'cause I still think it would be confusing. Bye.

Well I clearly would disagree. For the future maybe talk to some women to try and emphasize with them instead of placing such restrictive and arbitrary standards on them.

I think the issue is that you think women should follow 1910 Western fashion trends and can't give a reason for that. It doesn't matter how nice you are while still insisting on that.

Does it say in the Bible to wear clothes that originated before 1910 only? No.

How did women start wearing pants?
Why does that matter?

Because women were starting to wear men's clothes when times were different.

Sort of like how culture changes and therefore we should not use any culture to determine our dress code?
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love

During the 1920s pants became womens clothing too. You're the one who is setting an arbitrary standard of pre-1910 Western fashion. I mean are you going to hold men to the same standard?

But seriously John Henry, where in the Bible does it say set the standard for clothing by 1910 Western fashion? Please answer this directly to contribute to an actual discussion instead of attempting to change the topic like you normally do, just answer this question. Where in the Bible does it say set the standard for clothing by 1910 Western fashion?

Obviously in John Henry 5:14.Eleventh Doctor wrote:But seriously John Henry, where in the Bible does it say set the standard for clothing by 1910 Western fashion? But all joking aside, it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that thou shalt wear clothes from one hundred years in thy past. The only Biblical dress standard is that we should dress modestly.

Exactly, so I want JH to explain why he is going by the one hundred years ago standard. Which he will probably say is dressing modestly but again he needs to answer by what standard is he judging that?

Yes, the Bible is not based on 1910. However, I find it confusing.
And there is no such Biblical, Apocryphal, or Pseudepigraphal book as John Henry. Why, that name did not appear after about 18 centuries after biblical times.

No, but gender's clothes change with time. Who knows, in a hundred more years, maybe skirts will be men's clothes and pants women's clothes. Are you still going to tell women to wear skirts, even though they're men's clothes?

In that case I would agree with you.Mr. Whit's End wrote:No, but gender's clothes change with time. Who knows, in a hundred more years, maybe skirts will be men's clothes and pants women's clothes. Are you still going to tell women to wear skirts, even though they're men's clothes?
I still don't see why pants are considered men's clothes and strictly off limits to women in the first place. What if a woman was working in a setting where wearing skirts would be impractical or immodest?
