Who else usually pours the ketchup on their food instead of dipping the food in the ketchup?

I can't remember the last time we had ice cream and broccoli on the same night. Not together, but on the same day....

I used to eat melted butter on rice. It's really good if you have white rice, but brown rice is too rough in my opinion. I will, however, eat Ranch on brown rice if it's too dry. And it's...kinda good. *shrugs*

Really? I love butter on rice, if there's not any gravy available. It is frustrating, though, because it takes awhile for the butter to melt and it doesn't spread and mix with the rice as easily. My mom used to buy us the squirtable butter, but I guess she figured we were supposed to try to eat healthy or something. :(

I always microwaved the rice first. It makes the butter easier to spread. But then was when I used the tub-kind of butter. Spray butter works pretty well, too, though you have to be careful with those nozzles. I sprayed myself in the glasses once. :D And really, when you're eating rice and butter, that's pretty the antithesis of healthy. Lots of carbs, lots of fat...why even pretend at this point? :P

Actually, Helios, if you are eating real butter on your rice, it is really good for you! But only if it is REAL butter. :p :D

Alas, I have never eaten real butter. I've had milk fresh from the cow, but no real butter. :(

Anyone eat beans with rice? I like to mix up garbanzo beans or black beans with brown rice. It has a kind of sweet taste that actually gets kinda gag-worthy after a while. :)

Oh yah! Another rice-beaner! :P *high-fives AuntKate*

At chinese restaurants, I like to order a big thing of steamed rice and a thing of wonton soup. First I eat all the wontons and pick out all the vegetables (except the carrots), and then I mix the rice with the broth and call it rice porridge. It's really good. When I was like, really little, I used to get just broth and rice at this really nice place we went to a lot.

I'll also boil cream of chicken soup with rice and make a thick, stew-like concoction. Add in some boiled chicken and it's quite tasty.

Sure am. ^_^ My whole family has lived in the South for centuries; my dad's parents are from Louisiana and Tennessee, and my mom's are from central Mississippi. My mom can make a mean gumbo, and her Italian soups are the stuff of legend.

I'm not much of a southern gal, so are southern foods spicy much? I'm not too big a fan of spicy stuff. :P

Not necessarily. They can be; it just depends on who makes them. My mom usually makes foods that are rich, not spicy, but a lot of people and restaurants who are, say, Louisiana natives make their food a little zestier.

HAHAHAHA! Heck no. Here in North Carolina, the spiciest food people can handle here is Miracle Whip. I am one of the few Southern exceptions. :o

I thought so, TigerShadow. We have several friends from the South, and your comments and the way you phrase them made me wonder. :D :)

I am a Little Women freak, and so I annoy my friends with quotes and examples from Little Women......

I dislike pretty much every condiment in existence, and I never use dressing when I have a salad.
