Congrats to America for having one of the biggest upsets in history. Who were ya'll for?
Why thank you Blitz!
My family was for Donald Trump, though only as oppose to Clinton.

It's neither going to be as bad as the left is saying nor as great as the right is saying.
But we're still in for a rough ride. Especially from the maniacal Trump supporters (who, lest we forget, include white supremacists and people who think conversion therapy works).

Well, my friend bet $150 that Trump would win, and since no one believed her, she got like three people taking said bets. At least it worked out for her. And Alec Baldwin on SNL; I love Kate McKinnon thought

Yeah, this is important to remember. It's concerning though that Republicans are going to have control of all three branches for at least the next two years.
It also looks like Hillary won the popular vote, meaning that the Democrats got screwed over by the electoral college yet again.
My family was for neither Clinton nor Trump, and my brother and I have both made it clear on Facebook and elsewhere that we are staunchly #NeverTrump.
I'm not sure if I'm worried about Republicans in Congress or not, mostly because I don't really know how many of them supported Trump (I do not, for example, have any love lost for Planned Parenthood). What does concern me (regardless of what party controls Congress) is that they tend to allow legislation supported by their same-party President to go through—or block legislation by the opposite-party President—so that they can keep their constituents rather than because they do or don't support it. The Founding Fathers really screwed up by not establishing term limits in the Constitution.

Yeah, I don't think there will be full cooperation between Trump and Congress, but it will certainly be more than what would have occurred if Hillary had been elected.
Pretty darn good stuff here. If you need some non-sappy encouragement and sizing up of our situation, or if we have failed to articulate why we are as anti-Trump as we are, this is probably worth your time. Cheers.

I've started my long journey of studying for the next actuarial exam.
I began with my favorite topic on the syllabus so it would seem a little less daunting. I didn't get through a lot of material today, but I'm pretty pleased with how my study session went given that it was the first one.

Can anyone tell me who this character from the header is? I don't recognize her.
Trump announced Breitbart founder Stephen Bannon will be given power, specifically, Senior Councilor and West Wing Strategist. For those who haven't heard, he was Trump's campaign CEO. Never heard of that? Neither have I, Trump literally made it up jsut to give this man a big position in his campaign. Bannon is the editor and I believe founder of Breitbart. For those who don't know, Breitbart is this laughable extreme-right news organization. The kind nobody pays attention to unless you're, well, the kind of person who'd credit a story with a headline that includes the phrase, "renegade Jew." They have claimed Paul Ryan is really a liberal trying to hurt the Republican party, they are just a very nasty, stupid news organization. And, as feared, that's the kind of person Trump is appointing. (This does not discourage fears Trump will continue to prioritize extremist political concerns.)
This gives credence to other predictions, such as Sarah Palin, according to Politico, may be appointed Interior secretary. Another prediction says Ben Carson may be... gulp. Education Secretary. I know, I know. I literally yelled at my screen, "No no no, never never never!" My siblings looked at my oddly.

I generally don't tend to trust anything with a close personal association with Milo Yiannopoulos. I support his right to free speech and all that, but he's also a major jerk and he clearly revels in it.
If we're going to be fair about the media, though, I don't think we should really be trusting much of what comes out of places like HuffPo, Buzzfeed, Mic, and Vox, either. Not that anyone was doing that, but I don't want to make it sound like I'm just going after a right-wing news site. The fact is that all media is biased, but with all of these (and others), it's pretty blatant that they're passing bias and moving on to actual agenda-based reporting.

Politics must be discussed everywhere Blitz.
I actually talked politics with my Uber driver the other morning. Which, as someone pointed out later, isn't the smartest thing to discuss on the road with a stranger.
