Charming little video, Rosy. Here's my favorite animation from 2014. (You and Madame Carnivore have probably seen it.)
My reaction to the premiere:
Briliant! My nitpicks are few. When Glimmer (who sounds for too much like Sunset Shimmer) was found out and she started trying to make herself look good by blaming others and calling everyone else "fools", that kinda, "yawn, do we have to sit through this?" I call it the Valerie moment. ("You people don't know anything!") Also, we've been waiting for so long for the writers to stop shoving all the possible help out of the way just so Twiley can fix everything by herself. And now they do the polar reverse, making it so they can do zero. And instead of the ponies we've been waiting and waiting and waiting to finally show their competency, Shining Armor and Luna and co., it's some ponies we've never seen and may never see again. But...

Those ponies were still good characters. The script used all the characters wonderfully to comedic and occasionally plotwise advantage. And I like that it wasn't about communism per se. That's great, but it's been done. This was more a speculation on the negative affects of communistic ideals in general and the virtues of the American Way. Also, lots of suspense. So yeah, top-notch work.
As to Castle Sweet Castle...
Remember Castle Maneia? The critics loved it. Frankly though, it uses a lot of cliches. And worse, it shoehorns the characters especially Rainbow. She can be scared, sure. But by armor? She loves tussles and anything to do with tussles. Wouldn't she like armor? What's even scary about armor?

That episode seemed to benefit from being so early in the season. Everyone's all, woohoo, new stuff and and they tend to site episodes as their new favorite. It's only later in the season people get picky. Castle Sweet Castle is good, mind you. Funny and touching and all. And, yes, a spa pony got a speaking role, yay! But it was so predictable. You knew right away what was wrong with Twiley. You knew what would happen when they all tried to decorate. You knew the script would abuse Spike as he tried to keep Twiley away. And gee, once the ponies had messed things up, why, what was the logical solution? Maybe, just maybe, actually take into account what Twiley would want? Why, yes! Part of the fun of a new episode is not knowing what's going to happen and, yeah, none of that here. Not much originality either.

Good episode. Very funny, touching moment with Spike and Twiley hugging, good resolution at the end with them all decorating separate rooms. Not mlp at its best.
Bloom and Gloom is whole nother thing! Very weird, wondering through the whole thing what's going on. You knew she was dreaming, but it used what you knew against you. Making things so confusing. If this was a dream, who was that creepy thing who kept removing her cutie mark? What was all this!? And it was entertaining and funny too. That's much better.
Edit: Watching Tanks for the Memories and Dashie did the Grinch smile!? Oh yes!

Edit: Now Dashie's singing?! Oh no! Why is there a song every episode now? Every episode? The songs don't all even sound that unique anymore. Make this Castle Home sounded rather like a blend of Winter Wrap Up and Let the Rainbow Remind You. A song used to be a fun, exciting event.

OH MY GOSH… No… why did it end!? *cries* Fear is such a good idea for a bad guy!

I agree with all the songs. :P Maybe for the whole season, but the first 5 episodes? Meh.

(I don't remember a song in Bloom and Gloom, though.. Am I forgetting something?)

Speaking of songs, here are a few of my favorite remixes, if anyone wants to listen to them:

And here we have a fan written song that is absolutely gorgeous:

Soo.. there's no episode this week either, if anyone is wondering. But the next episode is the 100th episode and it's all about
the background ponies including Octavia, DJ PON3/Vinyl Scratch, Doctor Whooves and others
It'll air next Saturday. Just though I'd let anyone who was interested know.

But onto the real reason for this post:

After two and a half years of animating, it's finally done and you can cry.

I enjoyed those remixes. Most of them. I honestly only listened to a little of the Make this Castle Home one. Other than that, lovely.

And how dare you post Lullaby for a Princess before me!? Well, snooze you booze or something.
Yeah, I'm working so hard not to watch that teaser. EQD is off limits until that episode it is out, I kept coming dangerously close. Avoiding spoilers is so hard, I'm finding it's impossible. I was at a park strolling, half asleep kind of just dreamily looking at the creek choosing a place to read. And a girl talking to Arkan suddenly turned to me and said, "Derpy's going to talk." I am not making that up. Naturally, I couldn't believe it and could only look in horror at this apparation from nowhere destroying my future happiness. "What!? Derpy's going to talk? You, you...!" I reached my hands out like claws and only just restrained myself. Fortunately she had a sense of humor and she and her friend and Arkan and me all talked ponies and are the comics canon and aren't Silver Quill's reviews great. This all happened literally just yesterday and it was a pleasant afternoon, but my gosh. There's some sort of Peeves of spoilers running about making sure you find out what happens in the shows and books nearest and dearest to you.

Haha, you'd hate me, PF. When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out in '07, I was dead set that I wasn't going to read the Harry Potter books, but I wanted to know what happened and read the epilogue. I mean, granted, my only takeaway was that Hermione married Ron and Harry got married to some girl who I could not have known would become my favorite female character in the series, but still, I'm a literary heretic.

Anyway, who all saw "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone"? I really enjoyed it; I especially enjoyed the flashback to little Dash and Gilda, and it was nice seeing some character development for Gilda and worldbuilding re: the griffons.
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love

Haha, wow. That is hilarious.
Though to be honest, I'm not as "hyped" for the episode as many are, as the whole background pony thing kinda got old for me about a year ago. That's not to say I'm not looking forward to it, I just hope that the writers add in some original stuff and not just fan-made personalities and such. (And I really hope they leave out the Lyra/humans thing cause I've never liked that. It just seemed so odd to me)

And yes, I really enjoyed The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone. Gilda's never been one of my favorite antagonists, but I liked seeing more of her in this episode, and the fact that she's a baker, of all things. Twilight's guidebook and rant about not being able to go were great, along with Pinkie being.. Pinkie.

Nnnot as thrilled as you guys with Gilda in Griffonstone. Very entertaining episode. Also rather touching with its unresolved but promising ending. But Gilda... I hate her. So much. She's the only mlp character that absolutely stinks and my gosh she just makes Flash Sentry look like Gandalf. Her totally kewwwlll 90s slang was dated when she first appeared. Thankfully they keep it to a minimum and her voice is a little better done. I just didn't want to be dragged through them deepening this character, there are so many I'd rather spend time with. And yes, she's a little deeper. Any depth is more than zero. And her depth is... she makes scones. Okay. That and she's a product of her society... along with every citizen of Griffonstone. So does that really count as individualizing? Sorry, just a rant. Good episode, death to Gilda.

Who streamed the new movie!? Because I didn't. So I have nothing to add to the conversation. Ignore me.

But what did you all think? Should I look forward to seeing it?

I haven't seen it, and I'm not interested either.

Equestria girls = Me not interested. :P

I have been enjoying the rest of this season, though.

I honestly haven't watched it either because... *prepares everyone for impact* .... I'm not that much into MLP anymore. It's not that I dislike it, I've just really been losing interest over the past year. I don't think the hiatus helped, neither did the fact that this Equestria Girls movie didn't really catch my eye. It just seems kinda predictable. I guess it was an early teens obsession, and I guess it could've been over something worse, but hey, it was fun while it lasted.
I might watch an episode or two from time to time, I did like the hiatus-ender one with Rarity.

Well, we all move on with our interests sometimes. :) So I like mlp more than the Princess of MLP right now?

Last night I finished reading through this thread and decided to watch all the episodes in order. I fell asleep at episode 4. Not because it's boring, but because it was 1 AM.

Other than the theme song and the fact that all the main characters are stereotypes, I thought it was pretty good.

Yah, I think so too! I have only watched scattered episodes, but at one point I am hoping to watch them all from the begining. Which will probably be a lot of episodes once I get to it! :P

Ken we talk about this last ep. Please.

*edit* Warning from Ark: Do NOT look unless you have seen the episode because this is a REALLY big spoiler.
I don't cry at a ton of things, but I must say, this last ep had me in tears.

I did guess about 2 minutes in that this would be the ep where the CMC got their cutie marks, and so I wasn't that surprised when they did.

BUT THEY GOT THEIR CUTIE MARKS AND THEY ARE FOR HELPING OTHERS AND OH MY GOODNESS APPLE TALKS ABOUT THEIR PARENTS BEING PROUD OF THEM. AHH

AND THEY CRY. OHMYGOODNESS.
