But... what's the point? Other holidays that are for a specific group are "ignored" by those who are not in the group. Is there a Kid's Day before Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Grandparent's Day? Seems like some people just are upset they don't have a significant other, so they make a whole new day to distract themselves. *shrugs* But whatever, I already knew girls were weird.

Also your comment about it being invented because people are upset they don't have a date is extremely offensive, rude, and frankly just plain wrong. If you'd read the /full/ quote I posted, you'll notice that she says they celebrate this even though they have have husbands and/or boyfriends. Instead of being focused on just one type of love over Valentine's they've broadened their horizons.
