Yeah, having your faith tested is the worst thing ever! You should be taught things you already believe, you know, spoon-fed. I'm majoring in Studio Art; I'll be getting either a B.A. or a B.F.A., depending on how things go. Fortunately, I tested out of most of my Gen Ed courses, and I've got a pretty good scholarship that covers most of my expenses.
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love
Wai Wai Wai...I've been told that it can be both ways =PTigerShadow wrote:*y'allPaula wrote:I don't think Steppy's question was answered so...What are ya'll majoring in?

That's pretty awesome that you've got a scholarship though

Yeah that's how I feel about it too. Education is good but when it costs so much money... And it's not exactly like we really need it.Miss Friendship wrote:@Mandy Yes and no. Well actually you do. Or life experience which can take 30 years or more. Did I mention working longer hours and more extra classes? It is crazy hard to get a job already. Some jobs require education.

I know. When I said we I was meaning MF and I. We probably won't be getting jobs that require a college education.

Also, I can understand the worries about cost but asking what is the use of knowledge is really dangerous.

Is it a good question though? We should ask whether individual pieces of information and knowledge are worth having but just knowledge in general?

Sure, why is knowledge in general worth having? It's an interesting idea. Especially since if you try to figure out if knowledge is worth having, you are trying attain knowledge, thus presuming knowledge is worth having. So is the idea even possible to explore?

Excuse me. Would my faith be tested? No. I would always be continually "rolling my eyes." I am saying I would have better things I could be doing then listening to something I will never consider.Isaiah the Ox wrote:Yeah, having your faith tested is the worst thing ever! If you think college is the only way you can get "knowledge," you need help. Life gives you plenty of wisdom through experiences and you can learn anything if you put your mind to it.Eleventh Doctor wrote:Also, I can understand the worries about cost but asking what is the use of knowledge is really dangerous.

I never said college is the only way to get knowledge. MF said "But then, what's the use?" After saying colleges have knowledge, maybe I am jumping to assumptions. But my point has never been college is the only way to get knowledge, just that saying what's the use about knowledge and learning is not good.Miss Friendship wrote:If you think college is the only way you can get "knowledge," you need help.
