I watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens! The power to spoil everything is at my finger tips... but I'm not on the dark side, so you're welcome.

QUESTION FOR STAR WARS FANS:

What does the light side and the dark side mean? Who is on what side? O.o

Hmm, how to explain this quickly....

So, there is this mystical "force" in Star Wars called... well, "The Force." Much like spiritual powers, The Force can be used for Good and for Bad. The Light side uses The Force in a "good" way; and is more focused on controlling the usage of The Force and one's emotions. The Dark Side of The Force uses The Force in a "bad" way; and is all about succumbing to your emotion: fear, anger, hate; and using the emotions to summon The Force. The Jedi use the Light side of The Force, and the Sith use the Dark Side of The Force. And Jedi are the "good guys" and the Sith are the "bad guys." Usually when referring to the "Light side" and the "Dark side", one is referring to the good side, and the bad side. ;)

And yes, that does sound quite pagan, doesn't it... Most/some people would say the Star Wars (the prequels specifically) have many spiritual allegories and also moral points. The movies even show what happens when "religion" gets too caught up into politics. And the result is something you'd agree with (that is, the result is not good for the government, and is even worse for the religion).

Good to know, Oxy. In most areas of our culture, light, brightness, and the color white are symbolic of the good or moral "side", whereas dark, shadows, and the color black are symbolic of the evil or immoral "side". Even food! White cake is called "angel food" and dark cake is "devil's food".

My brothers went to Star Wars... (There was no way I was going to pay 20 bucks to go see it) I stayed home and binge-watched Once Upon a Time \:D/

You have watched War Room? Cool. I was starting to watch it with my friends on Sunday afternoon but then I had to go home before it was halfway through. :x What little I saw looked interesting.

MF: How much do you know about Helios?

Woody: Let's see. I know you survived her
drama, I know she's a danger to
society, I know she's a lie, I know
Belle is unfazed by her wrath, I
know she has ox horns, and I know
I should beware of her.

(And she is also my enemy. )

That's kinda interesting, since I'm reading Moby Dick and there is a whole chapter on how the color white usually brings fear and confusion to the mind. o__o (summary of the chapter from Moby Dick) Even though you aren't exactly referring to white. ;)

But, that is exactly the point, the Light side is the good side, and the Dark side is the bad side.

Mandy, the whole Divorce/Abuse debate started because some people thought the War Room was a cool movie.
