I am far from the biggest SW fan, and have never actually watched the prequel trilogy, but I...totally understood everything happening in Rogue One. It just...made sense? I hated the trailers, but the movie was a lot of fun, and I was never confused about anything (no more than I normally am, anyway). I went in without knowing what was about to happen and came out thinking, "Man, that was good Leia CGI at the end there". Maybe it's just me. I dunno. *shrugs*

I figured out everything just before the battle, and LOVED Leia at the end, but it wasn't as on point to me as The Force Awakens was.
I really wish they had shown Leia giving the message to R2D2, tho.
