AIO phasing out non-Club episodes
From their release via Facebook: BIG NEWS: We’re saying goodbye to CDs in the spring of 2026 and going fully digital. That means longer storylines for your favorite characters. Less waiting between multi-part stories. More flexibility for fun, one-off episodes. But what about downloads? Will there s...

Getting Clubhouse Back Issues?
Does anyone know any reliable way of purchasing back issues for Clubhouse magazine? Some of my old ones have been lost or damaged, and I'd love to be able to fill in gaps. Some of the features have made it into later compilations (like "Degrees of Kelvin", which is now in its own complete ...

Re: #992: Unmanageable
I've been uninvested in the "Jules' band" arc. In fact, this is the first episode I've listened to that featured it, although it is alluded to in the Buck two-parter. In full honesty, the reason why I haven't before is because I pictured it as being stories about ungodly people doing ungod...

#991: Making Nice
General episode observations: • Jay's status as a noncombatant has been reinforced in this episode, given that his leading motivation here is avoiding being beaten up. • The loss could not have been the worst in Odyssey history: Odyssey lost 63-2, against Connellsville in "Easy Money". • ...

Re: VERY IMPORTANT ODYSSEY QUESTION
If I remember the episode correctly, Mr. Gottlieb ("No Stupid Questions") used to get coffee at Whit's End. From a practical angle, I imagine with such a large building and so many things to maintain, there's a lot of work to do, and it can't hurt to have extra time to prep for when things...

#989: The Smouse Show
I was a little surprised to see there was no topic for this one. Abigail Geiger looks like the show's troubleshooter; when there's an arc that has ongoing issues, she's brought in to fix it. I don't know if this is intentional, or is a side effect of her specialty, which seems to be writing episodes...

Re: Album 75
When I read the above post, I honestly thought it was some sort of joke, but after I listened to the podcast, it made more sense. Curiously, there was a ToO topic within the last couple of years that actually seemed to predict something like this, based on the use of a computer-generated voice (CGV)...

Re: #955: Value in the Process
It is a shame it had to omit Emily to achieve this, but this episode didn't have the flaws that previous Rydell episodes have had. Morrie is accurately described as a jerk throughout most of this episode, but strangely enough, that might actually be something of a good sign for his personal develop...

Re: #953 Renee Renewed
Broadly speaking, there are two areas of particular interest in this episode, one being the philosophical quandaries relating to and societal ramifications of this technology, and secondly the legal aspects. The potential downsides of the former seem obvious (although they escaped Renee), so I will...

Re: Avery Awards 2022
I listened to this yesterday, and I admit that I enjoyed it more than any of the other AIO podcasts that I remember. It was so good that I like it and have re-listened to it multiple times even though I don't agree with most of the real results. (Maybe the plot softened my impression of it, since Dr...

Re: #045: What Are We Gonna Do About Halloween?
Well, I don't think there's a strong correlation between an episode's strength and its age. Although it'd be hard to argue that the first season was the best, most of the episodes were at least decent, and some were very good. They also tended to have more 'slice of life' than later on, which is app...

I haven't heard this episode yet, not being a Club member, but I wanted to reply while the 'iron is hot'. Like with the other review thread I posted on the other day, I may post a review of my own here when it is available. Could the negative influence be referring to the rowdy kids in the opening s...

The Plus-Minus Game
Cross-posted from ToO. I implemented this a little while ago , and thought it was worth mentioning, since I also announced Fill in the Blanks earlier. It's basically a count game, except done with a single-purpose PHP script, and automatically managed, instead on message boards and manually managed...

Re: King of My Heart
Would that be the best role model for the listeners? I literally have read a Club comment that said something along the lines of, "I use buck and jules as an example for my own relationship." I haven't had the opportunity to hear this episode yet (perhaps I'll make a review post at a late...

What video games do you play? I used to play a lot more than I do now. As of 2018, a mixed selection of the kind of games I might have played or thought about playing might have included Game Dev Tycoon, SpaceChem, Super Tux, Backyard Baseball (1997 edition), along with other Humongous Entertainmen...

Re: A clue to what state Odyssey can be in
the writers can't even agree on Eugene's age for the same episode! in As Buck would have it Eugene is meant to be a kid when Buck was 2, putting him in his early to mid 20's, then the writers stated that in that same episode Eugene is supposedly in his mid 30's! If that's so, that's a definite faul...

Re: A clue to what state Odyssey can be in
I have to admit this concept slightly frustrates me. When most people study events in works of fiction, the assumption is that the fictional world is basically orderly and logical like ours and that there are objective truths, even if they are sometimes obscure and even if we occasionally have to re...

Re: Should Hoobler Airlines be canonical?
It is a deviation from the real world, so from the perspective of keeping the AIO world as closely aligned to ours as possible, it isn't desirable, and you might say it 'shouldn't' be canonical. However, using a fictional airline might have been a forced decision, since it seems that using a real on...

I went through and changed some of the colors of vehicles to ones that I think are better-suited, but I have to admit I haven't actually used many of them yet. Now that I'm back on my Chromebook, though, it might be easier to work up the nerve. Not incidentally, I've found that the built-in keyboard...
