In the movie of the same name. The historical event being showcased was the evacuation of British troops from the French coast across the English channel while under heavy German attack. Both naval and civilian ships of all kinds were used to try and get 400,000 guys out before the enemy got to them...

Dunkirk is a city on the French coast. In the context of the movie it refers to an event out of WWII, so it makes sense that you wouldn't necessarily know of it.

FWIW, I remember listening to the modesty episode, and I think it was acceptable considering its audience: prepubescent kids from relatively sheltered Christian environments.
