Darien
Switches Things Up
Interesting...
A new spin on the upcoming cover art for
Passages: Darien's Rise has surfaced on CBD's
website. It looks like the team at Focus is playing around
with concepts up to the clincher. The illustration is nice,
and it looks a lot different than a book reading. The
original cover made the product look like it was merely a
book reading. I do like the use of the castle as is used on
the original book cover. It ties in well as a reminder that
the book is out there. We'll keep you posted in the days
ahead on covers. Click here
to see a slightly larger image. I'm going to hold off on
updating the product page with the new image at this point.
I'd rather have an image with higher resolution available.
It's time for the conclusion
of the extended interview with the actors who brought us the
Washington family! In the latest Official Podcast, you'll get to hear your questions
answered as well! Don't miss it!
The Washington actors
answer questions from fans submitted on the blog, including
questions about their families and their favorite episodes.
Stay tuned to the Official
Podcast in the coming weeks because some special things are
coming up! Also, Passages: Darien's Rise hits the shelves in just a
few days. Reserve your copy now or get it soon.
Also be
sure to keep your eyes on eBay because I've got several
Adventures in
Odyssey and Radio Theatre titles up for grabs. I
may have what you're looking for!

As You Wait
Aside
from all the excitement building for the release of Passages: Darien's Rise in August, there's no news
to report. Things have slowed down and we're just waiting.
While you wait, you may want to start, make some headway, or
finish collecting the repackaged Adventures in Odyssey
albums. Then there's the "Secret Word Contest" at the
Official Site. Don't forget the importance of
collecting those words Chris reveals every weekend on the
show. Each weekend a special password-protected bonus is
available at their site. At the very end, it'll be good to
have those words written down because I have a feeling an
exciting surprise is waiting for us!

What I'm Up To
Well,
this summer is just flying by, and it's hard to believe that
it's almost over. During the summer I have been getting my
life together. I just graduated with my Advertising and
Public relations degree and have been designing my portfolio
to put about 3 1/2 years' worth of graphic design projects
in. I also have been designing a self-promotional, a
prettied-up, colorful, and takes-forever-to-assemble piece
to show prospective employers my work. It contains a glimpse
into my portfolio and also features a CD containing my
portfolio and resume. It looks pretty cool, but oh, the pain
of assembling it!
So
that's my life. And you can now view my design portfolio at
jacobisom.org/portfolio.htm. For those of you that
actually care to see what I spent my life on for the past
few years. I guess you could say it's been a lot of fun,
stress, and anguish. But most of all, it's been very
rewarding to see how God has stretched me in ways I never
would have expected.
I have
no AIO news to report today. I just figured someone out
there would possibly want to see my stuff. And now you can!
I'm heading out to Virginia for a few days to visit college
friends (shout outs to all our visitors from Virginia!).
Never fear! I will be back eventually (probably late this
week or early next) to update the Scoop with the latest
happenings. Stay tuned.

The Ceiling
Podcast Season Finale
It's an
exciting day because The Ceiling Fan podcast released its latest edition
this week. The sad news is that the latest podcast is their
season finale, so we won't hear from them for some time in
podcast form. In this 17th installment, you'll hear another
Odyssey news update with Ethan, in which Ethan takes
listeners back to its "Top Ten Ceiling Fan Moments." It's a
very reminiscent podcast, and if you're a follower of the
podcast, you will recognize scenes you almost forgot about!
Staying
on the same line of thinking, you also won't want to miss
the Ceiling Fan's Bloopers from their video podcast. If you're on AIO
withdrawal at the moment while you wait for new shows, this
may be your fix!

The Secret
Word Contest
Just as
a friendly reminder, the Official Site's "Secret Word Contest" is still up
and kicking. Each weekend on Adventures in Odyssey,
Chris reveals a secret word for the week and it's up to you
to enter the word for a fabulous surprise. This week is
no exception. You definitely won't want to miss out on this
week's bonus content. In my opinion, it's the best special
bonus we've seen so far! So what are you waiting for?

Fans discuss
their adventure in Odyssey!
As
promised, I've been plugging away at getting the Interviewssection up to date. And today I'm pleased to announce
that an additional twelve more interviews with Adventures
in Odyssey fans have been added to the collection. Each personality proudly steps into the spotlight to
talk about his/her adventure in Odyssey!
I
stated this last Friday with the first release of
interviews, but it's important to repeat what I began last
week. I've decided to randomly pick interviews randomly
until the section is up to date. Due to the high volume of
interviews in the vault waiting to be release, I'm randomly
taking a sampling of the whole time gap of collected
interviews and posting them in sections. Never fear - If you
filled out an interview with us and it met our
specifications you'll be seeing yours one of these days.
Check back again soon for more interview updates. Until
then, go see
what the fans have to say.

Fletcher's
Rebellion
and AIO
Encore Collection Covers
Artwork
is just pouring in! Today I'm excited to reveal the front
covers for the upcoming AIO Encore Collection and the
Fletcher's RebellionPassages sampler. Both
will be available in September 2009 and the time is just
flying by! You will notice the Encore Collection is
only the preliminary cover at this point, but it looks like
they're headed in the right direction. Fletcher's
Rebellion
features a very attractive and appealing cover. I'm very
excited about both releases. To see larger images of both
releases, click the appropriate image above to link to
product pages.
It's
interesting to point out that a small action figure of
Eugene is featured in the cover of the Encore Collection.
Hmmm... is there an action figure in the works?

Darien's Rise Final
Cover Art
Tyndale
has officially released the final cover for the upcoming Passages: Darien's Rise audio release. It doesn't
look much different from the preliminary cover, but you will
notice they added the design elements that typically appear
on their recent audio releases with a slight twist. It's
hard the believe this drama will be available in less than a
month and we'll get to hear the exciting story of Darien's Rise again and again. But remember something...
it's always good to go back and read the book for its
"original-ness" even though you own the drama. You may want
to consider brushing up on the series by reading the first
book in the series. And keep your eyes open in early
August for the release of the audio drama everyone's talking
about. Well, at least it seems that way. Thanks goes to
Austin Peachey at the Adventures in Odyssey Blog for the heads up!
Also
today I've posted several Odyssey titles on
eBay, so if you're into bargain shopping, you may
want to check out the albums available.

ScoopVault
Welcome to another edition of ScoopVault, where the Odyssey
Scoop digs deep into the site to highlight old updates and
old Scoops. Today I'd like to draw your attention to a
section that has received a lot of feedback ever since it
started. In fact, there's a nice tribute to it on page 200
of Adventures in Odyssey: The Official Guide. I'm
talking about none other than our Where Odyssey Is Not
section which made the Scoop famous (or at least mentionable
in a very thick, intriguing book that no fan can do
without!). This mini-section gives detailed proof into the
location of Odyssey, primarily by crossing states off on a
list. The crossed off states are those who have been proven
NOT to be the location of Odyssey. And the ones left over
are the states we will continue to wonder about.
Speaking of wondering about things, I'm in the long and
tedious process of compiling more states where Odyssey is
not, and the process may go faster if I get your help! Next
time you listen to an episode, pay close attention to clues
that indicate that Odyssey is not in a specific state. Jot
down the episode name and who mentioned it and contact
us. I'd like the section to be completely up-to-date
and your help is greatly appreciated. I currently have a few
references to states written down and am waiting for that
big moment to release more clues. If you've never
experienced where Odyssey is not, then head over to the Where Odyssey Is Notsection right now!
Thanks
for joining us for this edition of ScoopVault, where the
past becomes present and an old flavors become all the more
tasty.

fans! Head over to our Interviewsto read 12 new interviews! Find out what makes the fans
tick, their likes and dislikes, and why their dedication to
Adventures in Odyssey is so strong. What are you
waiting for?
Right
now I've decided to randomly pick interviews and post them
that way. We have such a high volume of interviews to be
posted, so I'd rather take a sampling of the whole time gap
of collected interviews and post them in sections. Don't
worry - If you filled out an interview and it met our
specifications you'll be seeing yours one of these days.
Check back soon for another bulk update on interviews!
Also in
other news, a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at Focus on the
Family Radio Theatre's The Screwtape Letters has been
made available via
chriskou.com. Check out the video above, which
includes an in-depth look at what's coming up in October
when this exciting release is made available. So much is
happening and I think we're going to wake up and be
surprised one of these days.

Rachel Fox
talks about upcoming Passages release
Town of Odyssey member "H Tide" has brought
something exciting to our attention and we thought we'd pass
it on to you. As many of you know, Adventures in Odyssey
is getting ready for its release of Passages: Darien's Rise on August 3, 2009. Fans are
talking and the excitement is building, and while the audio
set isn't available, a special behind-the-scenes video is.
Rachel
Fox, voice of Anna in the drama, has posted a special video
and revealed that she would be working with Shane Baumel
(voice of Kyle). The video features her short interview with
Jim Cummings (voice of King Lawrence) and also includes a
short segment of Rachel acting in the recording studio with
Pete Renaday (voice of the Old Judge) and Shane Baumel.
You may
also be interested in reading about Rachel's interview with
Jim Cummings on her "News from the Fox" section at her official site.
I'm
certainly glad we're getting some exciting behind-the-scenes
goodies before the big release. Thanks to "H Tide" for the
heads up. August will be here before we know it!
