The Ceiling
Fan Podcast #11
If you've been keeping up with
the
Ceiling
Fan Podcast as I have, then you've come to realize
by now that you never know what to expect. Their eleventh
podcast, A Day in the Life of Ethan Daniels, is now
available. "Follow the biggest Odyssey Fan as he makes his
way through a regular day." The Ceiling Fan has always been
a source of entertainment with a certainly new twist. You
won't want to
miss the latest edition! Unfortunately I won't be
able to hear new shows until I graduate due to limited
access at school, but I guess that's something forward to
look forward to.

The Official Podcast
#61
Today the
Official Podcast
has released their 61st episode. This time it's another free
episode download, in particular,
Called On in
Class. These episode freebies are awfully nice for
those of you who don't own the entire collection. It
certainly is difficult to be young and try to collect such
an expansive (huge!) audio series. Yet, purchasing every AIO
album is worth every penny. No lie. If you don't believe me,
then take it up with someone else and they'll tell you the
same thing! Isn't Adventures in Odyssey the greatest?
So head on over and try on the latest
podcast
from Focus on the Family. If you have all the episodes, then
be a loyal fan and collect the whole podcast series. Way to
be a fan.

The Unofficial
Podcast
It's been a long time (and I
do mean a long time) since I've announced anything
regarding the
Unofficial
Adventures in Odyssey Podcast, but I think it's
time. After an extended hiatus from making shows, the
Unofficial
Podcast has released their latest podcast. You won't
want to miss it! I've always been a fan, particularly before
any of the other fan podcasts hit the web. So get up and go
listen!
But before you do, be sure to
vote in our latest
poll about bringing
AIO to a retail store near you!

Days to
Remember Repack
The
Repackaging Project continues as the next cover art is
revealed. In April 2009,
Days to Remember (#31) will hit store shelves with a
whole new look and a behind-the-scenes insert. It looks like
our friends at Focus on the Family are getting closer and
closer to a consistent look they've always wanted for the Adventures in Odyssey audio series. If you would like to
have a consistent look for your collection, then begin your
collection now with many of the titles that have already
been released. You can view more details about repackaged
albums at our
Albums
page. The front cover of this particular release depicts
Whit, Connie, Eugene, and one of Odyssey's kids celebrating
the holidays. It truly is an album about the holidays and a
perfect addition to your collection. To see
higher-resolution images for this release, click
here. As always,
keep checking back for more product alerts.
Also today we've released
quite a few
Reviews
by Fans in our
Episodes
section. If you'd like to review some of the shows, by all
means! The more the merrier. Write as many reviews as you
want.

Back in the
Grind
Well, if you've been wondering
about my plane trip, then it obviously went well since I'm
posting this. It was a boring day. Usually flying is, but I
must admit the moment of takeoff is always the best part.
Classes officially begin today and it looks like I will have
a significantly lighter semester than last time. If you
remember anything about last semester, you'll recall I spent
every waking hour on art projects which drove me absolutely
crazy.
As for future updates here at
the Scoop, you can certainly expect those. They're all
yours.

Culture Shock
It's that time again, but the
best part about it this time is that it's the last time I'll
ever have to do it. I fly out very early this morning for my
tenth and final semester at Pensacola Christian College. The
light is at the end of what has been a very long tunnel. I'm
tired of holding my breath, but I think I can do it for...
just... a few more feet. If you think of me, pray for a safe
flight and semester. I think my college experience is just
about spent and I'm ready to live in one place consistently.
I'll keep you posted in future updates!
As for our new poll, have you

Trying on a
New Look
This webpage looks wider. I
wonder why that is? That's because it is. I decided to try
and bring the Scoop homepage out of its shell and stretch
out. For one, I wanted to make the information feel more
free and organized. For another, I got bored and tinkering
is a fun way to pass the time. At this point, I'm not sure
if I'm willing to keep the look. If you hadn't noticed any
differences from the old look, then you probably weren't
looking too hard and things are just blending together.
Let me know how you feel about
the home page's attempt to stretch out for comfort. I'd like
to make it as accessible and comprehend-able as possible. If
it's not too popular, we'll go back to the way things were.
It's up to you.
As for other things around the
site, some housekeeping tasks have been accomplished, such
as our
Schedule page which
includes the airing schedule through March 2009. Not only
that, the
2008
episode listings includes updated details on summaries,
writers, directors, etc., for
The Truth
Chronicles shows. Finally, the
Links page is ten times more thorough now with a ton
of new links added. If you have an AIO site and have been
waiting for such an update, wait no longer!
As always, keep your eyes and
ears tuned in for the
Official Podcast
(#60 is now available). And you certainly won't want to miss
out on casting your vote in our latest
poll about yours
truly, Adventures in Odyssey! Vote now!

Poll Results Are In!
After all this time of allowing
you to vote on two of Odyssey's favorite characters, we're
pleased to release the final results of our last poll! 271
people have spoken and the tally has been made.
Walker
Edmiston, voice of two of Odyssey's main characters, passed away in
February 2007. Do you think that Adventures in Odyssey should find a
replacement actor(s) for the voices of Tom Riley and Bart Rathbone?
[271 votes total] |
Yes,
but only replace Bart Rathbone (37) |
14% |
Yes,
but only replace Tom Riley (13) |
5% |
Yes,
replace both characters (133) |
49% |
No,
do not replace anyone. (88) |
32% |
It looks like 133 of you want to see Tom
and Bart replaced. And now, it's time to
tell you how I voted in this poll. I'm
an old-fashioned kind of guy. Whenever
voices are replaced on Adventures in
Odyssey, a nerve has been struck in
my brain. Something is wrong. I become
unsettled. So... I was one of the 88
fans who voted "No, do not replace
anyone." I think we've reached a place
on the show where it's time to move on.
Tom and Bart should be removed from the
series. I don't care how... just do it.
The show will not feel the same. Many of
you had some words to say regarding this
divided issue as well, and I've posted
those comments along with our official
results
here. You won't want to miss reading what others think!
And, in
case you're wondering, we've unveiled a
new poll as well.

comments after voting. Other fans enjoy
finding out what you think.

The Changing Times Repack
Today
I'm pleased to provide the first big news of the year. In March
2009, the repackaging of
The
Changing Times, collection 22, will be released with a whole
new look and behind-the-scenes information booklet. If you're
collecting the collection of repacks on CD, then you won't want
to miss out on adding this album to your library. It's certainly
a step away from the original cover art. If you'd like to see a
more up-close view of both front and back covers, click
here.
If you'd like to see something
exciting for the new
Novacom Saga collection coming out in April, you won't want
to miss a trailer created by Tyndale House Publishers. The video
is available for viewing on our
product page.
Also, in case you haven't noticed,
I finally got around to archiving a huge lump of updates from
the past few months. As always, we're always open to suggestions
and recommendations as to where the site should be heading.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy new year everyone! It's hard
to believe we made it through another year and we're already
moving onto the next one. With the Christmas season, I suddenly
joined the iPod/iTunes sensation that has hit our nation.
Recently I loaded up my iPod with all the AIO albums I have on
CD, and that's most of them at this point. Also I added every
Focus on the Family Radio Theatre onto it as well. I'm certainly
looking forward to The Screwtape Letters which is
currently in production at Focus. If you're a Radio Theatre fan,
it's certainly going to be a real treat!
And, just in case you're wondering
if things are ever going to get updated around here, it will
happen... soon.
