 Thomas Newcastle
Dr. Thomas Newcastle is a doctor living in Odyssey. As a
boy, Dr. Newcastle accidentally shot his father's gun and killed John P.
Garrison, an innocent man who was walking across the street. When the
townspeople started looking for the guilty party, instead of confessing,
Thomas kept his secret. His father was sure it could not have been his
gun, thinking he had unloaded it days before, so he was never suspected.
The search for the killer eventually ended, and Thomas grew up and fell
in love with Rachel Oswald, the dead man's oldest daughter. Wracked with
guilt, he broke off his engagement, wrote a note, and buried it in the
box behind Whit's End with some other items. This box was found many
years later by Eugene Meltsner,
Jared DeWhite and
Dwayne Oswald. Thomas Newcastle was
arrested, but put on probation because of his young age at the time of
the shooting and his advanced age when convicted. |
