Fans of the ScoopCast and Adventures in Odyssey,
stay tuned
Enter for
your chance to win a summer full of
Adventures in Odyssey mysteries... in one
attractive visor pack!
Now is your
chance to participate in the Odyssey Scoop's
first annual FreezeFrame contest, in
which you have an opportunity to capture your
own version of Adventures in Odyssey in a
split-second of time.
What
is
FreezeFrame?
Welcome to an opportunity you'll never forget. FreezeFrame is
your opportunity to re-create an Adventures in Odyssey scene and
catch the perfect snapshot, share it with us, and show the Odyssey fan
community your creativity.
The Challenge
We want to see your interpretation of a scene from one of
Adventures in Odyssey's many mysteryepisodes. You choose the
episode, scene, and make it what you think it would look like as it
happens on the show. Perhaps you always wondered what it was like when
Whit and Tom discovered the secret room in the basement of Whit's End,
or how funny it must have been to see Connie in camouflage face paint
behind a plant at Whit's End as she kept an eye on Eugene at Whit's cash
register. Or maybe you'd like to see what Emily and Matthew's detective
agency looks like. It's your call. Choose a scene that actually happened
in one of Odyssey's mysteries, and re-create it.
What should I do?
First, it is necessary that you have access to a digital
camera. You might also want to have access
to some props, costumes, lighting, makeup, etc. Anything and anyone you
would like to use in making your photo more creative is fine by us.
Also, it is not required that you appear in your photo. You also may find it helpful to take several
photos and choose your favorite before submitting. Keep in mind that
lighting, location of the camera, and placement of props and more will
make a huge difference in the outcome of your work. If photo editing or
Photoshop is necessary, feel free to do so. In other words, there are
no limits. Feel free to involve anyone needed in creating your
scene. Most of all, have fun.
What
will I win? Our
top three
contestants with the most creative snapshots of an Odyssey
mystery scene will win a free copy of the
A Maze of Mysteries Travel
Visor Pack.
This special collection is great for summer listening and includes 8
CD's with a total of 24 Adventures in Odyssey episodes. In
addition, our first place winner will also receive a copy of the
Novacom collection, with
an additional 10 CDs containing one of Odyssey's best-selling mysteries
of all time. Your winning photo will be featured here at
the Odyssey Scoop for years to come! Our winners will also receive a
free Adventures in Odyssey poster.Even if you don't win, your photo
will be posted along with every other contestant's so fans can see it. In other words, it's time to show your stuff!
When is the deadline?
You have until 11:59 EST on
Thursday, June 30th,
to enter. Entries will be judged and and our three winners
will be announced at a later date.
How to Enter
Send us an
email with your Name, Age, Location,
Mailing address, description of your scene,
and photo attached. Be sure
you put "Freeze Frame" in the subject line. The higher
resolution the photo is, the better.
Guidelines:
Only one entry per person.
More than one person in a
family can enter, but the scene chosen must be
different.
You can enter even if you live
outside the United States.

Adventures in Odyssey fans everywhere
have enjoyed the painstaking effort that writer
Nathan Hoobler and the entire Odyssey team went
through to publish The Official Guide in 2008... just in
time for AIO's 20th anniversary celebration.
Now, three years later the team is getting ready
to dive in for an updated edition and they need
your help.
What would you like to see added in the next
edition of
The Official Guide? What's
missing? How can they improve and make the book
even better? Now is your chance to share your
thoughts and help the team decide what they need
to do to make the next book even more awesome.
The next guide will include much of the same
material as the 2008 version with more pages of
updated products, behind-the-scenes info, and
much more.

planned for release around AIO's 25th
anniversary... and that's just around the
corner!
A
couple days ago we released some new buddy icons
on our Downloads page. I think a few of you
suspected some new desktop wallpaper designs
weren't too far behind when we made the update
that day. Today, we're releasing some brand new
desktop background options. This gives you the
opportunity to both Scoop-ize your computer and
AIO-ize it at the same time. And what does this
mean for the older backgrounds we had for years?
They're gone. We burned 'em. They're toast. To
tell you honestly, they lived their day and
looked too archaic to carry on. And I'm glad I
never have to look at those again. So now we
have 15 all-new wallpaper designs for your use.
Of course, we're always coming up with new
things here at the Scoop. You can bet your best
pixels that we'll be cooking up some more
wallpaper images in the future. And you're more
than welcome to submit your ideas for more.
These things take time, you know. Enjoy!

About Us section.
Well,
fans, the Odyssey team has announced their new contest in
which you can express your creativity... and win an advance
copy of Album 54 for
your efforts! Since
The Green Ring
Conspiracy (#53) revolves around money,
the team is looking for aspiring artists to submit their own
version of what they think an Odyssey dollar would look
like. The choice of medium is yours, whether it be hand
drawn, colored, or digitally created. The most creative
entry will earn the winning participant an advance physical
copy of Clanging Cymbals and
the Meaning of God's Love (autographed!), and
an accompanying download of the album as well. Now that sure
makes it worth your buck!
It's interesting to note that the sample dollar featured in
the contest announcement was created by
The Ceiling Fan
Podcast's very own Loren Crisp. You may remember
him. TCF artist, writer, and actor by day, college student
by—well—day
as well. Regardless, his talent has been put to good use by
the Odyssey team to give you a good idea of what they're
looking for in their entries.
For more details on how you can get involved in this fun
(and safe) counterfeiting art contest, click

fake money—is of the essence!
