Begin your Adventures in Odyssey journey.

Where to Start with Adventures in Odyssey

Beginning your journey through Adventures in Odyssey can be a daunting task. With well over 50 audio collections to choose from, it may be a little overwhelming. Do you just jump into the series and buy albums randomly? Will it make sense if you buy albums backwards?

Our Recommendation: Start from the Beginning.

If you plan on collecting the whole series eventually, we recommend you start at the beginning with the very first collection, The Adventure Begins. This collection, along with the albums following, establishes the floor plan and tone of the show, introduces the town's characters, and immerses you into the world of Odyssey. Each episode builds upon episodes before it, so something might not make sense when a reference to former episodes is made if you're listening to the series out of order.

Of course, many fans receive Odyssey albums as gifts or begin collecting the series out of order and it can be exciting to fill in the pieces. Either way works since Adventures in Odyssey is about character development and maintains an overall consistency from show to show. Starting chronologically or at random can be adventurous in of itself. The series gets better and better as it unfolds, and the production quality improves over time. Adventures in Odyssey was started during the 1980's, so time periods and styles are evident early in the series. However, the show is timeless in its flavor and enjoyable regardless of the era you're from.

Get a feel for the series.

If If you don't plan on collecting the entire series and would like to get a feel for what the series is about, some special collections are also available. Each collection contains previously released episodes, so if you decide to collect the series in chronological order later, you may discover a lot of repeats.
