How long have you been a fan of Adventures in Odyssey?

Well, my son is now 12 years old...so I would say 10 years. As we were shopping in the local Christian Bookstore for music, books and videos my wife and I came across an AIO Album. It sparked our interest and so we purchased it. The Album in question was Album 31: Days to Remember, and we fell in love with Odyssey immediately. Over the years, we collected the rest of the Albums as they were released on CD.

What is your favorite episode of all time?

I would have to say without a doubt that Malachi's Message is my favorite episode. If I were to rate the episodes on a scale of 1-10 there would be several that would rate 10, but I would rate Malachi's Message an 11 if I could.

The thought of being given direct counsel by one of God's messengers is encouraging, but what really got me was what Malachi said to Whit at the very end. "Well done, good and faithful servant, you are much loved. Keep your hand steady on the plow, and the harvest will be fuller than you can imagine."

What is your favorite AIO web site?

I frequent several AIO websites, the Scoop, whitsend.org, AIOHQ. Though I like them all equally, the one I frequent most often and enjoy the most is AIO Soda Fountain.

If you could meet one actor, who would you meet and why?

I would have to say Will Ryan. Though most people know him as Eugene, he also plays the clueless P.I. of Odyssey, Harlow Doyle. It would be interesting to have a conversation with someone that has such a wide range of personalities.

Which character do you resemble the most and why?

On first thought, I would probably say Eugene. Mostly because I like logic and intellectual stimulation, though not as much as he.

But if I were to look more at the heart of a person, then Wooton would have to win hands down. Mostly because I can relate to his care-free outlook on life. Wooton loves entertaining and teaching children, but he also thinks outside of the box.

Who is your favorite character and why?

I'd have to say Bernard Walton... he's such a down to earth kind of guy, and I love the metaphors and similes that he uses. He has such a way of cutting to the quick of what most people would think are difficult and complicated situations.

In your opinion, what do I need to change about my website?

There is nothing specific that I would say needs to be changed, though everything needs improvement, this site is fairly well setup. The only thing is maybe the episodes section lacks information.

If you could change anything about AIO, what would it be and why?

This might become a pretty large answer, because I have 3 ideas on how AIO can change.

First, I have recently been think about Connie & Mitch breaking up recently, and then when Jason & Tasha were engaged, Connie had a sizeable crush on Jason. It might be an interesting plot twist to be Connie & Jason become involved romantically.

My second thought is something we haven't seen since the Barclays were seen in Odyssey...a pregnancy. And seeing as Eugene & Katrina have recently been married, and are still fairly young it would be great if Katrina would get pregnant.

Finally, I would like to see a storyline surrounding Walker Edmiston's death. Tom & Bart are two central characters that would be extremely difficult to replace.

As for Bart, he can simply be written out by having him move back to New York for various reasons. Rodney can stay behind and start to live on his own...I mean after 20 years on AIO it might be time for him to finally graduate from High School.

Now Tom, unfortunately, could pass away in a truck accident or something and a storyline about the inheritance of the Timothy Center could be created.

How do you imagine Whit's End and the town of Odyssey?

The one thing that always captures my imagination is how large the building must be. First of all to be able to accommodate all of the rooms and inventions that has been described. But also all the tunnels and secret passages that exist, the walls must seem to be pretty thick.

As for Odyssey, I see it as a rural town. Small enough to only populate 30,000 - 40,000 people, but large enough to be noted on a map. A lot of trees, gardens and parks. On the edge of a couple of farming communities and a forest. In fact there is a town just an hour away from here that I can easily imagine would represent Odyssey.

If you had your own AIO site, what would you put on it?

Well, I am currently working on a personal AIO Wiki. I say personal because it not online, only I can access it. However that being said, I am hoping to get it online once the basic information has been entered.

I hope that the Wiki format will allow all fans to come together to add and update the episode and album information as it changes.

(Note: AIO Wiki is now available)

What is your favorite section of whitsend.org?

The part that I enjoy the most are the Discussion Questions for each individual episode.

I use them every week as a part of my Sunday School lesson. Oh, I think I've forgotten to mention until now, I teach a Sunday School class to 10-13 year olds and use AIO episodes as object lessons.

For example, we listened to The Tower a few weeks ago...once the episode is finished we sit down and discuss what we learned. Then I ask the students the questions provided from the whitsend.org website and have them read a Bible verse or two that's related to the lesson learned.

This is followed up by various activities, but that's generally it.

What is your favorite section of the Odyssey Scoop, my site?

I would have to say Extra Extra & the Interviews section. They add an extra perspective to AIO that most other sites ignore. It's good to learn about the behind the scenes information and to hear what the fans think of the various aspects of Odyssey.
