How long have you been a fan of Adventures in Odyssey?
I first listened to
the episodes maybe eight years ago. I remember listening to my first episode The
Treasure of LeMonde and being scared of the professor when he was sprayed on
the face with green paint. I would get out of bed at night and walk to my mom
and dad's room and tell them I was scared. Then I listened to The
Vow and got an anxiety attack that my parents would get a divorce. I was
never really a "fan" until much later. Probably around 1999 or 2000
did I really get interested. Finally the Christmas of 2002 we received twelve
Odyssey albums and our collection has been growing ever since to over twenty. I
was kind of confused when they put out the 'Gold Collection.' Would I have to
start rebuying the early albums?
What is your favorite episode of all time?
I've listened to
every episode in the whole album series except for (can you believe it?) the 12
eps in Back on the Air. I can't wait to listen to them. I
just got them in the mail. It is so hard to pick a favorite episode. So I'm just
going to say The Search for Whit. I favor the international
intrigue eps, and it got better when Whit (Paul
Herlinger) stepped back into the show. Odyssey was saved.
What is your favorite AIO web site?
I just discovered the
websites recently. But I have scanned and processed every piece of info from whitsend.org.
Now I'm exploring aio.cjb.net and aiohq.com.
I like the headquarters website because it seems to be the most up-to-date.
If you could meet one actor, who would you meet and why?
Of course, I'm amazed with
every single actor, but I guess I could narrow it down. Hal
Smith has to be the most likable actor, but in the photos he appears rough
around the edges. Paul Herlinger on the other
hand seems to look more refined. Since Hal Smith has
passed away, I'd say I'd most like to shake the hand of Mr. Herlinger.
Which character do you resemble the most and why?
This is a hard one because
there probably isn't any person exactly like me on AIO. I would have to say
Jimmy Barclay because of his interests and personality. We also seem to go
through the same kinds of problems (mostly as we get older). I've always liked
him.
Who is your favorite character and why?
I hate this question. But to
make you happy I will say it's a tie between Eugene and Jason. Eugene is so
funny and his sense of humor (whether he means to or not) cracks me up. Jason is
the young tough guy that is every boy's envy. His love affair with Tasha
interests me too.
In your opinion, what do I need to change about my website?
I'm sorry, but I haven't
browsed it enough to tell you that. Sorry.
If you could change anything about AIO, what would it be and why?
Give the more recent
characters more color. Things haven't been the same since before the Novacom
saga. The Washingtons are really boring. I wish the Barclays could still be on
the show. I don't find anything really wrong with Alex and Cal except I wish I
could tell Alex to lighten up! But I guess that's his personality. I hate to say
this, but the show SOMETIMES seems babyish. I admit that it wasn't as bad as the
early days, but sometimes I wish the series was targeted more toward teens and
their issues.
How do you imagine Whit's End and the town of Odyssey?
I imagine it in a small,
secluded valley with mountains and water surrounding it. I imagine Whit's End as
a Victorian mansion with an atrium behind the building to store the Strataflyer.
I picture tables and booths scattered around near the entrance. With sort of a
not-so-down-to-earth atmosphere. I picture the Imagination Station as a stubby
sideways rocket or torpedo.
If you had your own AIO site, what would you put on it?
I would put on the LATEST
happenings in Odyssey (not the ones from three years ago). I would also put some
kind of connections to the main actors where you could chat or write to them. I
would also have a section where I would have heaps and heaps of facts since
1985(?) about Odyssey.
What is your favorite section of
whitsend.org?
I love the Kid's Radio
section. I can listen via OnePlace.com to
the episodes that are aired (much less static than on the radio). I've tried to
listen to every single air day, but it's hard!
What is your favorite section of the Odyssey Scoop, my site?
I'm sorry but I haven't
browsed this site long enough. Sorry!
Do you have any comments or questions?
I love Odyssey, but I
feel really nostalgic when I think about the past long-gone characters and
writers, directors, and producers. Has Odyssey lost its wonder, excitement
& discovery? Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.
