How long have you been a fan of
Adventures in Odyssey?
I've been a fan of AIO for about a
month and a half now. I started listening to it by pure accident and now, I
really like it. My two favorite characters are Connie and Kelly. Kelly, the
little girl in the Chosen One, which is also one of my favorite episodes. The
reason is, I identify a lot with Kelly. When I was younger, my mother didn't
treat me too nicely. Kelly and I also share a love for the piano.
I like Connie because she is down to earth and really knows how to help people.
She also is played by Katie Leigh, who is one of my favorite actresses. My
favorite character that she plays most of all is Fizzy, from My Little Pony. MLP
is something I grew up with and Fizzy was always my favorite pony.
Back to AIO. I also like Lisa, who is also visually impaired, like I am. I can
relate to her as well. I also like the episodes, Just Say Yes, Viva La
Difference and A Lesson from Mike. I'm going to continue to listen to them and
find others I like and try and learn from them as well. The advice Katie Lei
gives at the end of her interview is great! I'm going to try and do what she
advises to the best of my ability. Sometimes it's hard to trust God, but when
the going gets tough is when we need to trust in Him the most. Like I say in my
second book, "Safe in His Hands: A Journey of Faith: Have faith and let the
Father handle the rest." I've written another book called Finding Her Courage.
I'm also working on another one now. I thank God for the talent of writing every
day. I'm grateful to Him for blessing me with the gift and I intend to use it to
inspire others and glorify God in the process.
If you could meet one actor, who would you meet and why?
If I could meet one actress from
AIO, it would have to be Katie Leigh. I would LOVE to meet her and just hang out
with her for a day. But if I got the chance to meet any actress, it would be Mae
Whitman. She plays Winnie on the Last Chance Detectives, another Christian
program on focus on the family. She is a true inspiration to me and I would LOVE
to tell her so in person.
The funny thing is, when I first heard Katie on AIO, I was like, "That's Fizzy!"
GOL! GOL means giggles out loud. I recognize voices very well since I can't see
like everyone else can.
Those who see with their heart will never lose their way. But those who rely on
eye sight alone will always be lost.
Which character do you resemble the most and why?
If I had to pick one or two
characters that I identify the most with, they would have to be Kelly Washington
and Connie. The reason is, like Kelly, my mother wasn't too nice to me growing
up. She never wanted me and she would often treat me really badly. I can really
relate to Kelly's situation. Kelly and I both share a love for the piano and we
are both really sweet. And like Connie, I enjoy helping people and I try and
listen if someone has a problem. I try and give the best advice I can, even if
it's something they don't want to hear. I know that just listening can do
wonders. I also relate to Lisa, because we are both visually impaired. I look at
my disability as a blessing in disguise. There are days I wish that I could see
like everyone else for just one day, but I know God made me this way for a
reason. I see where others cannot. I see with my heart and that's the best
source of sight God could have given me.
Who is your favorite character and why?
I really like Kelly and Connie. I
can identify with them a lot and I also like Lisa too. I can also identify with
her.
If you could change anything about AIO, what would it be and why?
I wouldn't change anything about
it, but I would recommend maybe having Mae Whitman guest star in one of the new
upcoming episodes. I think that would be really cool!
How do you imagine Whit's End and the town of Odyssey?
I imagine it through seeing it
with my heart. I listen to the stories and see them in my mind's eye.
