Tom
Riley's Term

During Tom Riley's term as
mayor, were you happy with his character? Do you think he did a good job as
mayor? Is there anything you would change in that time of AIO history?
I
liked it when he was mayor cuz it gave him something to be besides a farmer.
I mean think about it Whit was EVERYTHING!!! Eugene had Whit's End AND the
collage and Connie had Whit's End and other odd jobs like Camp and little
things. Tom had well nothing. He did serve at whit's end for a LITTLE time
but whe didnt' hear much about it. It think it was a GOOD thing for AIO to
give him the position of mayor. Also it gave the Blackgaard thing a whole
new twist. TOM FOR MAYOR AGAIN!!!!

No,
I was not happy with his character. As a matter of fact, Adventures in
Odyssey started to disappoint me. I've been listening to Adventures in
Odyssey since 88/89 (I started in the second grade!). I lost interest about
5 years ago when all the good characters were written out. I never got back
"into" it. I see this as a more universal theme for those of us
who grew up listening to the originals - we prefer the first characters that
brought everything to life.
As
for me, I prefer to listen to my old tapes with Jimmy, Lawrence, Donna,
Lucy, Oscar, Digger, Whit, Eugene, Connie, Melanie, Robyn, Rodney, Isaac...
aah the list continues.
I
guess I lost interest when Whit left, Jack and Jason never appealed to me,
and Tom's stint as mayor was so-so.

Yes,
that was the best Tom Riley. Tom is never around anymore and when he was
alround things happened...he was probably better than Mayor Faye.
--Dave
Well,
that's a lot to think about. Tom Riley didn't have just a ton of episodes
made during his term as mayor, so...it's hard to say. I was happy with what
I heard, I'll put it that way. As far as AIO history goes... I don't have a
reason to complain. AIO is cool.
