Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

Since there aren't any active K.R.E. members, I think it would be fun if I played devil's advocate and tried to represent possible opposing arguments for y'all to refute. ;) Here's an argument: If Emily is such a wonderful person, why did the show try to trick the listeners into thinking she kidnap...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

I agree that Whit would assign them chores like clearing tables, cleaning dishes, and maybe cleaning up odds & ends. They would have to finish their homework first (which I guarantee they would finish startlingly fast) and then Whit would assign chores around the shop. Kinda like being grounded but...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

I'm with Phil Lollar on this one; I do not think Clubhouse mysteries are canon, for several reasons. Did Phil Lollar state somewhere that they are not canon? My answer would be both yes and no. While I generally do not consider them canon, I have noticed a few things in the mysteries that do tie in...

Favorite Live Episode?

There have been six episodes that were recorded in front of a live audience. The first one, "New Years Eve Live!" was recorded at Focus on the Family in 1997. The latest one, "30th Birthday Live Show" was recorded on a Disney Dream cruise ship in 2017. Out of these six episodes, which one is your fa...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

Is it really necessary to continue the discussion between Whit and Morrie? This would mean we'd have to come to a conclusion on how Whit's actions are different from Morrie's. I think it would be weird if we dropped that plot thread. I'm going to argue that Whit's actions are not much different tha...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

Oh boy. This is a lot, but I did ask for it. :D  I did not get specific when writing the outline. I based mostly everything on what you've stated in the E.R.K. and in our PMs. When listening to "A Sacrificial Escape", in particular, I assumed Morrie's punishment would be JD, and that made his a...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

Wow, this is a lot of stuff! But we still need to figure out what the problem between Morrie, Whit, and Suzu is? I agree. I'm thinking that it may be over the question of either Whit's punishment to them, or else because, as has been suggested, Morrie and Suzu are causing trouble with more of their ...

Re: Episodes with Dream Sequences.

Welcome to the Soda Shop, Bananareader! We're glad you're here! A few other dream sequences I can think of off the top of my head are, Welcome Home, Mr. Blackgaard (Edwin dreams that he is tarred and feathered by angry Odyssey residents) The Inspiration Station, Part 1 (Connie dreams about having an...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

Morrie and Suzu struggle to adjust to their new life and making peace with those who they have harmed. Emily, the one most affected by them, is super cold towards Whit & the Rydells (which is a whole other thing that needs to be dealt with). The Rydells may have to return to Japan if they can't adj...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

I've actually recently looked back on almost all the past 120 pages of the E.R.K., and there are a lot of cool things the members did that I think would be fun to do! We can all draw Emily, organize the leadership of the E.R.K., hold an E.R.K. meeting, or discuss Emily (which we've already been doi...

Re: The E.R.K. Plans to Write

I'd prefer to stay on the SS. We can just use this topic to debate/discuss the storyline, theme, and other details about the episode. I'm sure working out the details about the material we're writing will take up most of our time, anyway. I don't see the need to move discussion somewhere else. When ...

Re: The Ongoing Stories & Characters

The one I'm most invested in is The Rydell Saga. I am also enjoying the Renee Carter episodes. I feel like we haven't been getting much of Wooton and Penny recently. Sure, they both appeared together in album 64, made an appearance in album 66, and then had an episode in album 68, but I'd still like...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

120 PAGES! \:D/ I don't dislike all of the characterizations. Emily & Matthew usually are good. One thing in particular I remember loathing was Valerie, Jay, and Vance chanting about how they were "villains." *shudders* It's something I try to forget. Oh, yeah, I forgot about that one. But I think ...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

"Repent After Me" doesn't even include Matthew but does involve a mystery + Emily. It can still technically be considered a Jones and Parker mystery. There's a Jones kid in it, and there's a Parker kid in it! The Parker kid isn't Matthew, but Olivia is solving a mystery like Matthew would...

This was a great episode! I'll have to hear it again, but I can say that I liked it. Phil Lollar's writing was really good. I find it amazing that that this episode ties in to Knight's Scheme, book 5 of The Blackgaard Chronicles book series. Check out this conversation between Jason and Wilso...

Re: Album 70

Words cannot express how happy I am that "Auto Response", "Jumping Off, Jumping In", and a Christmas episode are all in a mainstream album. Why would they put "The Christmas Bells" in an album that releases in March?!?! I know it will probably release in December on the club, but everyone else is go...

Re: The E.R.K. (Emily Rules Klub)

119 PAGES! Let's keep it up! \:D/ YES! Let's celebrate! 119 pages! Yes, I noticed this as well. I think it had something to do with the different actors he had during that time. I'll have to take more time examining this, though. I can briefly say that I thought Matthew and his interactions with Em...
