What Is Novacom Really Up To?
By Jacob Isom
Recently a new company broadened their
horizons and moved to the small town of Odyssey. Novacom. Soon they snagged Tom Riley into
the deal of selling some of his land so Novacom could build a radio tower. Was this a good
action for Tom? Also was deciding to build a second Whit's End a good thing for Mr.
Whittaker to do at this important time? And what is RWS? We know that it stands for
"Radio Wave Study," but why is it so secretive, and why is Eugene acting so
suspicious? Is Eugene a new bad guy in Odyssey?
With the end of the Fall Season 2000 of
Adventures in Odyssey came a great new story arc. But there's one thing that has been left
out. It's too mysterious! Novacom, in a sudden flash, swept through Odyssey taking
citizens with it. Is Novacom the family company they say they are? And if so, why are they
playing violent television shows and branching off to questionable topics, such as
"Devil in White?"
Arthur Dent is one of the major big
wigs at Novacom Broadcasting. To me, he seems like a pawn in the bad guy's hands. The new
Bad Guy is using his unaware employees for a different purpose. Does "Mr. X" or
whatever his name is want what's best for the kids of Odyssey? Or is the whole Novacom
Broadcasting thing a cover up for what the bad guys are after? Why is everything so
secretive lately?
Whit seems like the main pawn in this
game. Why did some bald guy tell Brianna's brother to break into Whit's office? What could
be so important about Whit's End that the bad guy wants? And who is AREM?
AREM showed up first in "Red
Herring." Cal and Alex learned the hard way what curiosity can do to you. But that
doesn't answer my question. Who is AREM? Could it be possible that Eugene is disguising
himself as AREM to let people know what's wrong with Novacom? Or could it also be possible
that Mitch (Connie's new boyfriend) is AREM and he knows what's going on behind the
scenes?
I pondered on this: What if Dr.
Blackgaard is still alive and he's the head of Novacom? But later I heard an episode
titled "Breaking Point," and my hopes were shattered.
These questions, and many more, are lurking around
the corner. But the main thing is, keep listening. You never know what could happen next.
