During
the past few weeks, Adventures in Odyssey fans
connected with the
AIO Facebook page have been trying their hardest to
reach the milestone of 10,000 "likes" for the Odyssey team
in exchange for the first in an upcoming three-part AIO
episode The Labyrinth.
"Interestingly, I was one of the dozens
of fans who was holding out until the end to be the
10,000th "like". Whether I was or not, I can't be sure,
as by the time the page refreshed itself we were at
10,001 fans. And, after I refreshed the page again only
a second later, we had made it to 10,009. However, if no
one will claim that title, then I most certainly will.
;)"
Needless to say, hundreds of fans of the page
shared and tagged
Adventures in Odyssey
faithfully since the Odyssey team launched
"The Great Facebook Challenge"on the
Official Site on January 9th (deadline February 1,
2012). Now fans can expect that hard-earned first episode of
The Labyrinth. The picture (at right) was shared
after the goal had been reached.
Having been heavily involved with promoting
the challenge to reach 10,000 "likes" (I posted occasional
status updates and the image above), I was as excited as the
wave of fans who teamed up to make it happen, well, made it
happen! That's what I love about Adventures in Odyssey
fans. AIO's fan base is so loyal that things get
accomplished and the show pushes forward.
Of course, if you haven't "liked"
AIO on
Facebook yet, you're more than welcome to drive up
the numbers. Congratulations, Odyssey fans. Be watching in
the days ahead for that free episode!
Jump in the deep end of the pool this March
as Adventures in Odyssey's 55th audio collection―The
Deep End―official
becomes available for digital download. The cover is now
available, with the hard copy of the album to be released in
May 2012.
Jason Whittaker discovers a
life-threatening plot in the works after he tracks the
villainous Mr. Grote to London. In Odyssey, rumors fly when
a wedding brochure is mistaken for an announcement and
everyone thinks Connie is getting married. Eugene and
Katrina hear unsettling news about their future. And Kids
Radio tells the exciting story about how a back-country man
with a simple desire for peace winds up on the front lines
of World War I. Amidst all of the conflict and comedy, our
pals in Odyssey learn that being in over their heads can be
a very touching and funny experience when God is put in the
center of it all.

Back in April 2011, the ABC
network decided to pull the plug on its two longest running
soap operas, "All my Children" and "One Life to Live", with
"One Life to Live" airing its last episode a few days ago.
And with the cancellation of the long running "As The World
Turns" a year ago, it would seem like the genre is quickly
coming to an end...Read full

This week is an exciting week for the
Adventures in Odyssey team. The actors are behind their
microphones, the producers are with their mixers, and the
recording light is on. Oh, and the directors are probably
sweating bullets as they try to capture the heart and soul
of each episode.
Nearly 25 years since the show's inception,
Adventures in Odyssey is in full swing and more
popular than ever. The team is together this week in
Burbank, California to record shows for not-so-distant Album
56 (title yet to be released). The team has graciously
posted photos and video on the Adventures in Odyssey
Facebook page, along with the title of an upcoming
episode written by Marshal Younger: The Bible Network.
Visit the official AIO
Facebook page and be sure to "like" it. The Odyssey
team is campaigning for at least 10,000 likes in order to
release a free upcoming episode from Album 55: The Deep End. Can it
possibly get any better than this?
We're
always looking for ways to improve your experience at The
Odyssey Scoop. In our Episodes
section, we now have original broadcast promos for a
majority of the episodes in the Adventures in Odyssey
audio series (give or take a few). Not only can you hear a
small sample of every single episode in existence, you can
also hear the radio broadcast promo which airs to promote
these shows. And I have a feeling we haven't seen the last
of these promos.
It's all part of our efforts to help you find
the episode you're looking for.
