Adventures in Odyssey goodies for Christmas
Happy 10th Anniversary to The Odyssey Scoop! On
December 22, 2000, a die-hard fan of
Adventures in Odyssey decided he wanted to
create a fan site dedicated to his favorite
radio program. Ten years later, he still is, but
on a much wider scale.
Yes, my dear visitors, today is a momentous
occasion here at The Odyssey Scoop. A
celebration of years gone by, a look back at the
progress we've made, and a glance to the future
for what it may hold.
For those of you who may have joined us
recently, the Scoop began on a much
smaller scale. If I'm
remembering correctly, the dot com didn't appear
on the web until 2002 when we launched a site
redesign. That design lasted for several years
and ultimately ended up at what we have now.
Somewhere along the way, I thought it might be
fun to chronicle a thorough look at Where Odyssey Is Not,
based on specific mentions on the show over the
years. Due to popularity and the uniqueness of
the site feature, we had the privilege of being
mentioned in The Official Guide in 2008 when
Adventures in Odyssey reached its 20 year
milestone. What an honor! A big thanks to writer
Nathan Hoobler and Focus on the Family for
making room on page 200 for us in the book.
Since that time, numerous people have checked
out The Odyssey Scoop because of that special
fan-cherished book.
What started out as a small hobby turned into a
place in which AIO fans can congregate to learn
about upcoming AIO news, gain behind the scenes
insights, and so much more. Also, we
never imagined that
Where Odyssey Is Notwould inspire a
summer-long roadtrip with the legendary Ethan
Daniels and Phil Jinkus. Who knew?!
Of course, our
slogan has always remained the same: "providing
the Scoop on Adventures in Odyssey, one
cone at a time. Our standard for site content
has always been high. It's not about quantity.
There needs to be quality, too. And I don't
think that standard will change any time soon.
As we move
forward, I cannot even imagine all the support,
comments, questions, and encouragement I've
received since day one. I'd like to thank Focus
on the Family and the Adventures in Odyssey
team for working with us during these years to
promote their show. And Tyndale House Publishers
for generously providing valuable AIO prizes for
our contests and giveaways. The people I've
encountered have been a true blessing, and will
continue to be so.
I'd also like to
thank you. Yes, you. It's the feedback of you...
And you... And you. All of you who visit and
decide to follow us on our journey to provide
news on the world's #1 audio drama. It was
because of that first email in 2000, or that
letter from a teacher in Taiwan, and the
countless compliments we've received that keeps
us going. Ten years ago I never imagined we'd
have so much content and even a podcast. And as
we enter our second decade, I ask that you
continue what you do best: enjoying time with
us, submitting reviews, getting involved, and
following us. And getting the Scoop.
Happy 10th
Anniversary to The Odyssey Scoop! One decade
down. Who's with me as we enter the second ten
years?
Oh, and don't
forget to leave us a comment of what you'd like
to see happen in the next ten years! And keep
checking back! We've always got surprises headed
your way.

...Amidst the cringe inducing chaos, there is something very
brilliant, daring, and wonderfully original about today's show. Sure, it
