The
Odyssey Scoop
The Evolution of a Logo
Since
the beginning in 2000, The Odyssey Scoop has
been given several different flavors. Take a

2000-2001
The
site experienced its birth pangs from 2000 to
2001. Founded on December 22, 2000, the "Scoop"
was originally a slightly disorganized mess of
new information. The site was hosted on a free
web hosting service.
During the process of creating a logo I had to
think of a name. I finally came up with "The
Odyssey Scoop" as the title, thinking it was
original as can be, only to find out months
later that it was already being used by Focus on
the Family Clubhouse magazine. Oops. I
left the name the same regardless and the name
has stuck ever since.
2001-2002
On
November 10, 2001, The Odyssey Scoop redesign
was published with a black background. The
organization of the site's features began to
take shape. View a sample of the original black
design
here.
2002
Before
releasing the site with a white background, a
preliminary logo was created, though never used.
2006-2010
Our
newsletter
went out with a logo slightly different from the
2002-2010 logo, with an addition of Lucy
Cunningham-Schultz.
2002-2010
On June
19, 2002, the Scoop's redesigned was published
with a white background and design that would be
used until 2010. The structure of the site was
pretty ironed out and more consistent. During
these years, the design was tweaked several
times for necessary improvements, but the
overall layout was kept intact. View a sample of
the original white design
here.
2010
With a
need for consistency, an updated look, and
improved organization, The Odyssey Scoop
re-launched on February 13, 2010 with the design
you see now. The 2002-2010 logo was still used
but was changed a month later (March 16, 2010)
to the 2010 logo, the logo you see now.
Adventures in Odyssey had entered a new era
with an introduction of new characters,
storylines, and updated character illustrations,
and we wanted to match a whole new era of shows.
