I thought I knew what my
favorite Adventures in Odyssey episode was, until I heard "A Bite of
Applesauce." Back then my favorite episode was "Waylaid in the Windy City,"
but now it's "A Bite of Applesauce!" This episode brought a newer feeling at
Whit's End. There's now a secret computer room with a top secret government program that no
one knows about except Whit, Connie, and Eugene. What could be more exciting?
My favorite scene in the episode is when Connie
accidentally tells Mable that she wants to try the Applesauce program. I could just feel
the fear that Connie was feeling at that moment. AIO did such a wonderful job with
everything in this episode. All the sound effects, music, and other things really made a
difference in AIO.
This is a wonderful way to start off the Blackgaard
saga. Whit, Eugene, and Connie hadn't expected this little mistake to reach out to the bad
guy. AIO is so conniving in everything they do. When AIO wants to be scary, they're scary!
When they want to be funny, they are funny!
You know what? I have always wondered about this?
Why didn't Connie tell Whit that it was an accident that she loaded Applesauce? It was
wasn't it? I made the reference that Connie accidentally said the wrong thing. Whit should
have been more willing to listen before firing them. But I do like it how he fired them,
don't get me wrong.
This episode was a fabulous way to bring Blackgaard into the
scene!
